The acreage is prospective for gas from multiple Carboniferous reservoirs.
The prospect is geologically analogous to other producing fields in the Southern North Sea

According to the maps I came across Badger lies actually just west of the Schooner field, which is producing from the Carboniferous (also) plus some other gas fields nearby.

Was this a £10k buy at 0.96p from yesterday coming in late ?

In the SNS you'll indeed fight a lot of tight reservoir areas, however not everywhere in the SNS there are also some very prolific areas; even then you can still achieve some good production after stimulation.

FB I would rather stay on the conservative side; it depends on a number of factors but before getting too technical: different type of reservoir rocks have different properties not only in terms of porosity, permeability and other parameters, but also depending on burial conditions, geological setting, watering out effects, inflow mechanism, etc. etc. Some wells are very tight low perm with hardly any recovery, some are very prolific... it all depends really.

Hi Boom, I believe we're saying exactly the same regarding the numbers :-)
25% of 67% of 399 Bcf is indeed around 66-67 Bcf recoverable give or take some rounding errors, which was what I was stating, maybe it came across as different wording. Worth as I've stated 200+MM if fully recovered.

I am not fully up to speed regards the money trail via Holywell I have to admit, can you elaborate please when you have the time ?

So Badger is estimated to have 566 Bcf gas in place with 399 Bcf recoverable, of which Holywell / Eagle owns 66 % in which we have a 25 % stake, hence 66 Bcf recoverable attributed to Andalas, which is worth over 200+ Million pounds.
