Lets be honest BT has a lot to do when it comes to fibre speed or whatever you call it. The speed up here is awful, Dont know when you will read this but we are writing it on Wednesday!!!! We are in our late 70s and BT was the first share we purchased. Went back in not long ago (have been in and out a lot) Now the other firms like Sky virgin etc apparently do not wish to pay towards the cost one way or another. They want cheap use of BT lines while charging their customers more. Reminds us of the Television stations. BBC struggle to obtain sports programmes / matches as they just get the licence fee.ITV get their money from adverts which is probably about the same as the licence fee . Neither can afford to show us the events they used to because Sky dominate because they have more money, It seems unfair that while they get two incomes, adverts and charging viewers to watch, allowing them to out bid the other two who only get one income. These other channels should only have to receive money from adverts to fund their programmes not charge viewerc to watch. . That way very high payments to sport to show their matches would be stopped and realistic payments made in line with BBC and ITV Ridiculously high money paid to so called sports stars would cease. Stopping foreign players in football taking over from British players, no wonder we never win anything.

We note our purchase of 500 shares is not listed at around 16.28 @196,05 all trades are ni=ot recorded for most companies

Every one says 60p or over a � but it keeps going down. As we said before once we purchase more shares then it retreats. Perhaps when it goes to a penny and we buy more it will go bankrupt!!!!! Think we may buy more at 12p which it looks like going to next week. Just cannot understand it. Trouble is BV own the majority of the shares and they want the price to drop so they can buy the rest in an offer just or pennies. QUESTION If they make an offer will they be allowed to use all their shares to make sure the offer is accepted. If so they could offer a penny and with their majority of shares they would get the offer acceptedt. Or do 66% of shareholders have to agree? to an offer. If so we need the price to rise so they have to buy more shares to get 66% or whatever the amount needed is to have sufficient to buy us out.

Not convinced that hedging pays off, which apparently Accrol have done.. A lot of companies hedge import costs etc. etc. to try and retain low costs etc as prices rise. However how often does it work in their favour? after paying for the hedging facility? The firms that write these hedges (A bit like bookmakers) are not there to lose money so the firm hedging can save money. These hedging facilities were set up by companies who intend to make money. The oil price is the one that stands out. Those who sold oil in advance before its price drop did win, but now they are losing after hedging at a much lower price as the oil price increases. It is the same as betting, the punter does occasionally win to keep them interested but overall they do lose. We feel that you just accept market conditions and get on with it instead of employing people to Hedge and in the end add more wasted costs to your accounts. We were involved in the horse racing business of bookmaking and very few punters won. Like everything the biggest winner is always the "Expense" column. Companies use options which if used carefully can give a healthy return but can also give you horrendous loses. We sell options but we DO cover the option to limited any losses and we have made annual profits. WE only sell small amounts and are happy to make about �300 per month on options that are way out of the money But we did have a losing spell in January which took half last years profits in a month. So hedging etc only pays if you do not do it all the time and when the price is right.

Thank you for all your replies we have noted them, we do take it as read that we can set up a home group on them unlike one Asus we have. The latest asus does allow you to set up a home group but the older one does not have the facilities. Now just confirm that we are not wasting money buying more Accrol !!!!! we did buy at 44p which we thought low at the time. but intend to buy 3 times as many today to try and reduce the get out price and get a little profit. P/E is very low which attracts us

8.41 to 8.42 am about 10 buys at 78P+ followed by about 6 sales at 80p+ they must have them the wrong way round we would think

We see this a lot in small companies where there is a buy at say 85p then a sell at 86p or a sell at 90p followed by a buy at 88p We just cannot understand it. this never happened when the market maker their own calculations and not leave it to a computer. you also see a small purchase at say 100p followed by a very large purchase at 99p it just does not make sense. As for the price now, we are edging towards selling at 80p+

Can any one recommend a decent laptop? we have had two dell pack up on us in the last month and we are having to rely on the Asus laptops we had bought earlier this year. One of these though will not set up a home group. Dell used to be good, we have bought a lot over the years but of late they are not fit for purpose. Might try one of those you can put your finger on the screen and move things. Not sure how that helps though.So lets have you youngsters thoughts about laptops. We find the grandchildren under the age of 9 are the best for advice on such matters when we are south and see them

We have no problems buying through ADM, deals done in under a minute. Problem is they always go down after we buy as already stated on here.

You have no chance of getting to 40p while we are still holding them and still buying them to top up, always just just before they go down again. Stocks we buy always go down initially. We will not top up again until they go to 12p

We have 3 very poor stocks which include this one. We have just topped up on this one and as usually it has gone down, while the other two which we have not topped up on have jumped 20% over the last few days. Luckily we have the Options we sell and thankfully pay well along with the I.Ts which keep up their good work. After over 50 years of trading you would think we could do better!!!!!!! with individual stocks.

WELL THIS APPEARS TO BE ANOTHER SMALL COMPANY THAT IS DOING OK AND WITH PROSPECTS, BUT NO ONE SEEMS INTERESTED. WE SOLD OUT LAST YEAR AT A PROFIT BUT WE NOW FIND WE HAVE A FEW 1000 STILL IN OUR PORTFOLIO. YOU ALL SEEM UPBEAT, BUT CHATTERS ON THESE TYPES OF SHARES ARE ALWAYS UPBEAT. . MAY BUY A FEW TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO INCREASE OUR HOLDING. NICE TO SEE YOU ALL DOING THE RESEARCH THOUGH AS YOUR INFO DOES HELP

WE ACTUALLY NOW ONLY DO THE PORTFOLIO FOR OUR SON NOW UNTIL HE RETIRES AS WE DO NOT NEED TO MUCH MONEY, AND IS BETTER WITH HIM IF WE BOTH DIE SUDDENLY. HE WILL LOOK AFTER IT FOR HIS SISTER AND ALL THE GRANDCHILDREN SO THEY WILL HAVE A HOUSE.EACH HOPEFULLY THAT IS FAMILY

I (Mrs) did omit to say that while i am not in to it Mr O makes a lot and i mean a lot of money selling covered options. A big monthly income for us. I actually hate them but he keeps making money so i cannot suggest we stop.

Why say Mr O'Donnell that is a big assumption. Mrs O'Donnell (ME) has made a lot of money over 50 yrs along with Mr O'Donnell who also has done well. You can all judge us and joke about us as much as you like. (Oh by the way we hardly drink). While we just smile and look at how our portfolio has increased over 50 yrs. The one big winner in all of this is the Expenses we pay and the tax on shares. We do not have the knowledge or ability to buy stocks world wide or in some sectors that the I.Ts do (Unit Trusts too expensive). So let them do the work and we take the profits. Selfish probably but they are getting good money to increase our holdings. I want out of all shares but Mr likes to dabble a bit so we keep about a dozen for interest which we change when in enough profit or to much loses!!!!!! To many on here say how the share they are talking about will go up, where as in fact they are hoping they will go up and want others to buy them to try and increase the price. One other thing about ITs some have very wide spreads but if you intend to hold for 10 yrs will still give a handsome profit. At our age we have stopped buying them.
