The timing and the relatively modest size of the placing has taken me by surprise, I confess.

Winter 23 natural gas contract currently at 307p so futures prices are indicating a continuing problem for quite some time to come (as they did back in last September, well before Putin's invasion of Ukraine).

We don't know, but there is now a 4th monitoring extension so something is underway.

Volume of 30.6m on AIM, another 1.2m on Aquis.

They are the ones prepared to take proportionately bigger risks for potentially bigger rewards.

Not sure the persistent selling hasn't helped to clear the path ahead for the share price - we shall see ... and pretty soon.

They (Igas)have ... decided ... it definitely wouldn't be worth farming in to Loxley as it hasn't even been drilled yet.

The fact that Loxley has not yet been drilled will discourage interest from the bigger players, who will require confirmation of the field's commerciality.
It is highly unlikely to discourage companies nearer to being pure play explorers - that is, after all, what they do.

So what help is "theice" when they don't forecast as far forward as first gas would probably be? (post of 14:14)

Ibug, the Intercontinental Exchange is, as its name suggests, an exchange, it is not a forecaster.

"All data delayed at least 15 minutes", so +1.19% failed to take account of the UT at 16:35:22.

That isn't an assumption, that is a real price.

The point is that, to make long-term forecasts, reasonable assumptions have to be made (otherwise no long-term projects would ever be undertaken).

We are almost 10 months on from the revised Saltfleeby CPR's start date for price forecasts of 01/10/21.

Beyond Dec 26, they escalated the price by 1.5% pa.
