These are all modest figures by comparison to revenue before the sidetrack kicked in: 16,466.

On 15 May 2023, the Company announced that, as planned, the second compressor at Saltfleetby Field was successfully commissioned. The Field has operated in dual compressor mode since then with three producing wells, B2, A4 and the new B7T well, which have been flowing gas to the National Grid at the combined average daily rate of up to 9.5 mmscfd since then. This represents more than a 75% increase in production over that achieved in the first quarter of this year.

This is a really rough and ready calculation but if we just take revenue for the first 6 months of the year as per the interim report of £16.466m and uplift it by 75% we get £28.82m, for half a year.

The introduction of the energy profits levy was accompanied by a specific investment allowance, which gives an additional 80% deduction against the levy for qualifying expenditure. When combined with the existing regime, this results in tax relief of 91.25p for every £1.00 of relevant expenditure.

Following today’s announcement, the amount of this additional deduction will be changed to 29% with effect from 1 January 2023. Once the higher rate of EPL is taken into account, this will produce a similar result as the current allowance, with relief of 91.40p for every £1.00 for qualifying expenditure ...

Energy bills are likely to stay high for the foreseeable future, according to the boss of the company that owns British Gas.

Centrica chief executive Chris O'Shea said while he believes the worst of the energy crisis is over, risks remain.

A new price cap comes into effect this weekend which will see households with typical energy usage pay £2,074.

Mr O'Shea said prices have fallen from the rise caused by the Russian war, but are higher than the long-term average.

"I think the first act of the crisis is over," he said. "I think what we've got to remember is the energy prices had more than doubled before Russia invaded Ukraine.

"Now, prices are back down to pre-invasion levels but they're still two and a half times the long run average." ...

Given the oil to surface we remain bullish about the prospect's viability and are investigating whether an additional deeper target sits below Pinarova within the Cretaceous Mardin and Beloka section, the proven reservoir at Basur-1 and the nearby producing E.
