With production up at Saltfleetby, the Board’s priority now is to identify inorganic opportunities for growth which would provide the route to a £100m valuation. The Board is also evaluating the potential value in the longer-term of a gas storage solution at Saltfleetby.

The near term priority is, therefore, the identification of inorganic growth opportunities.

Given the reinforcement of the team a while ago, one imagines this is something to which they have already devoted a certain amount of time.

But even on a momentous day such as yesterday only 400m shares were traded, ie. 5%+.

It's a share where a large proportion of the capital appears to be in very sticky hands.

The 10/11/22 placing was for just £500k.

This morning's is for £750k plus a broker option for a further £100k.

The sums raised are relatively modest, the company is clearly seeking to avoid issuing too many new shares at these low price levels.

There is a further £500k of warrants to be exercised at 0.2p issued with the 10/11/22 placing.

Didn't anticipate a raise this morning either, was anticipating a few days' delay.

But it is a relatively modest raise, is now out of the way and those participating know they are getting a bargain.

The oil study's primary objectives are to determine; a. whether the Pinarova oil sample matches the oil from the shot-hole seep, b. whether it's derived from the same general Upper Jurassic source as E. Sadak or c. it has another origin from shallower Cretaceous origin. The geochemical results will assist the Company's current investigations into the possibility that a deeper light oil accumulation may also exist below the Pinarova area within Cretaceous limestones. We can all now see this has involved quite a delay. On the positive side, it is a delay the partners have been prepared to endure.

After all these months of waiting for news about the dewatering permit, we should be heading into a rich period of updates from Alba (quite apart from further developments at GROC):

Following the dewatering of the lower levels, Alba will move directly onto safety works, mapping, sampling and, subject to the permitted development rights notification regime, bulk sampling of the exposed development in order to determine the gold content and test the Company's existing geological model below Level 4. Depending on the outcome of that work, the subsequent phase of work is expected to involve putting in new development, commencing with the sinking of a new shaft or the extension of the existing Llechfraith Shaft.

The GROC share price hasn't moved so far this morning, but a stronger parent company should also benefit GROC.

The Lower Llechfraith mine area was a key focus for the last large-scale development efforts at Clogau, prior to Alba's time. Historical plans from that period record sightings of visible gold within these lower workings.
