@Bannor. I agree, it does seem likely that it is there to pick up DEV's iron ore which we are assuming there is sufficient in the stock pile at the public port to fill a 45kt ship. Also, although getting to 20% first would be great, in fact proving we can actually ship the ore from the public port before 20% is a nice bit of derisking before we release our $2.5m in escrow.

Have you seen who's in pier 2 18th to 20th? Perhaps the ore carrier is taking part in test manoeuvres and was delayed a few days to their schedule?

Good points and good spot @Bannor! I had it in mind it had shifted by 1 day, but it could be 2. I know what you mean about the ore not being ours, that's why I try to quote "ours" when I remember ;-)

Well it would certainly end some uncertainty but not necessarily the suspense if @Kiran clarified it was here to pick up "our" ore and if it is the case, the reasons why this is now possible! ;-) No harm in asking, but I'd be surprised if he can reply! And if he does he better be very careful in his choice of words. Don't want him committing a foul so close to the goal line! ;-)

Interestingly only the first port link has been updated to show ETA as tomorrow (16th), all other links (except for the last which doesn't mention the ship) still has the ETA as 2am GMT (3am BST) tonight

@Cause: I'm doing well, I hope the same of you! Although I've been attempting to follow the court cases, it's becoming a little hard to piece it altogether - that's why it's a refreshing change to be able to point to empirical evidence that a named ship designated as carrying iron ore of the size that was indicated we'd be using (45kt) has been booked in to the place we are expected to see it - tonight! Will it dock? Won't it dock? Will it load the ore? Won't it load the ore? Is it Dev's ore? Isn't it... you get the picture ;-)

@ErrHum. I believe that $60m was based on selling the 1.39Mt @ $80/t - it's now circa $120/t - though other factors such as increased shipping cost might have impacted the additional gain we might have expected from increased iron ore prices.

@ErrHum. There is no doubting that there is a *lot* of ore sat at the privately owned port that will take over a year to ship (via trucks to the public port and then 45kt ships at a time - though possibly larger now!), however, there is perhaps a ship load at the public port too. We don't know with certainty whose that is, though it is very likely IMHO it is part of this project as why hasn't it shipped by now? Unless it isn't iron ore, it's something else like "mangos" (manganese ore: in joke!) not belonging to the Amapa project which has just been sat there waiting for prices to pick up. Time will tell!

Also, presumably now the previous ship is out of the way, "ours" can get a move on whenever it's ready. These things are after all only estimates. Estimate to leave port is still on Monday that I can see. Should be plenty of time to load whoever's ore has been sat at the port all this time...
