London, UK., 10 December 2018: ValiRx Plc (AIM: VAL), the clinical stage biotechnology company, is proud to announce that independent analysis of VAL201 data shows a statistically significant dose dependant response in the reduction of PSA correlated to time on the Phase l/ll clinical trial, involving patients with hormone-sensitive and hormone-resistant prostate cancer.

VAL201 ENTERS THE CONCLUDING STAGES OF ITS PHASE l/ll CLINICAL TRIAL

London, UK., 17 October 2018: ValiRx Plc (AIM: VAL), the clinical stage biotechnology company, is pleased to announce that VAL201 has now entered the concluding stages of its Phase l/ll clinical trial at University College London Hospital ("UCLH") involving patients with hormone-sensitive and hormone-resistant prostate cancer.

This stage of the trial follows approval received from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency ("MHRA") to escalate VAL201 dosing (announced by the Company on18 December 2017). In the intervening period, the Company has geared up the compound supply chain to meet increased demand for the drug, as a result of the higher dosage to be administered. UCLH has spent the period both screening and recruiting patients who are eligible to enter this stage of the study.

The current cohort has already received the escalated dose. This marks the point that VAL201 entered the concluding stages of the Phase l/ll clinical trial. The VAL201 compound has already demonstrated consistent safety and tolerability and signs of activity in previous patients treated with lower dosages.

UCLH continues to recruit suitable patients to complete the trial. Further results will be announced as they become available and have been verified.

ValiRx announces good stability data for VAL201


ValiRx is pleased to announce that initial stability testing of its novel anti-androgen VAL201 has been completed, with the molecule showing good stability in simulated gastric conditions. This is an important milestone in the development of VAL201 as a treatment for prostate cancer, and on the basis that it will also demonstrate good bioavailability, it may be possible for the drug to be delivered orally rather than by injection.

Satu Vainikka, CEO commented:

"We are very pleased to have seen good results from this part of the development programme. The biotech industry has a major role to play in delivering more effective and less toxic cancer treatments; approximately 75% of new drugs in phase II and III clinical trials or at the pre-registration stage are of biotech origin. There is a great market need for innovative therapies in the hormone induced cancer field and we believe that VAL201 is well placed in this area."
