They might be spread out - but based on their cash at hand and in bank, they couldn't afford to pay any of them outright if they had to today.... I deeply regret ever getting involved in or investing in the AA. There are far more / better companies out there than AA to invest in.
I had substantial holdings in AA for nearly a year. Then I took advise from a broker who told me "I see no reason for anyone to hold shares in AA - their debt pile is unsustainable and the share price is on a long-term trajectory to zero". I took his advice and sold and have been proved right. Anyone who thinks that AA can sustain a debt pile of £2.7 billion is just living in a fairy take. Most large FTSE 100 companies with many more assets than AA don't have a debt pile as big. Long-term I can't see this company surviving.
I have a friend who works there as an external consultant. Says that people are running around like headless chickens. Really is boils down to a company buying other companies and spending a fortune integrating them. Integration rarely works successfully and costs a hell of a lot of money... Then when they want to sell the company, they have to spend money hiving it off... seriously a lot of the projects that Centrica are involved in a complete waster of money!
Normally I might agree that there is something wrong with the market actions - for this one, however, the market is overpricing Centrica. The company might be one of the very few of its size and scale that genuinely might go bust! It is haemorrhaging customers and making substantial losses. I wouldn't invest even if it were 20 pence a share.
The collateral damage of a hard Brexit will be severe and long lasting - I guess a strong Brexit ideology has its price and in years to come people may realise that the EU despite its fault is a much more democratic force for good than they might have thought in the past.
Well - I am from Ireland living in Northern Ireland. I hold no sympathy for the current position the UK is in - for the last three and a half years almost your politicians have failed you - not one or two - all of them. Your Government has entered into an agreement with the DUP (representing 30% of the population) - the most hated party in NI to exercise a veto over all of Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, we wait month after month to understand whether we will be EU citizens or not. As an Irish passport holder, but a supporter of the Union for over 20 years, this whole exercise in supposed democracy has led me to hold the view that NI is better served within Ireland and the EU and I stand by that 100% now. I hope Brexit goes through as soon as possible - a hard Brexit preferable now and we, on our little Island comprising 56% who want to stay in the EU, can get on and integrate with Ireland. I used to look up to the UK - unfortunately I don't anymore - I wish the UK well - or rather whatever parts of it that want to become independent in a globalised world!
The strike at IAG had little, if any, impact on the share price. Don't assume a strike is fatalistic - its not. Workers, thankfully, don't get paid as they should not. Costs saved - yes, revenue forgone.
Robbed blind - the UK has never been robbed (even blind) by any other country. I think its pretty much accepted that London's financial status has been helped in large part by membership of the EU. How far the EU project should go has never been imposed on any country - hence why countries are free to leave.
Now being handed to people for nothing.... sorry - 3.5 billion valuation is not even close to the value of Autonomy alone, let alone all of the other parts...
Royalmail. I have come to the conclusion that your short sightedness will hurt you and the employees of Royal Mail in the long-run more than it will hurt me... In hindsight - I deeply regret investing in RMG at £3.50 a share - not because I don't think its worth it and more, but because its full of numpty left-wing nuts who are intend in causing as much damage to themselves as everyone else. Royal Mail as an organisation is stuck in 1970s delivery mode and whilst it has many great employees who do a good job, people like you just represent everything that is bad about Royal Mail - outdated 20th century practices and the selfish me first culture and feck the rest of the country. Your Union, like all Unions, are experts in job destruction!
RoyalMail - its better to live a life with compromise and to recognise when you have got a good thing - than voting for strike that will decimate your shares in RMG and your pension... and probably your job - I hope that Royal Mail do start to rationalise the business and take a good few employees off the payroll - those with highest sickness and least productive - far too many employed for the size of the company... We'll see, no doubt all the turkeys are lining up to vote for Christmas. Corbyn is an terrorist sympathiser, a communist, and would bankrupt our society.... as much I do not want Brexit never mind a no deal Brexit - I would take that over Corbyn.
RMG workers would be absolutely akin to turkeys voting for Christmas in terms of striking in jobs that are paid much better/have better terms than your other competitors and also considering that many of you own shares that you are engaging in sabotaging... I always thought many (but certainly not all) RMG workers were of low IQ - a strike of the nature described below certainly gives you the title that Judge Rinder rightly gives many who go through his courts - stupid! As for Corbyn vs. Johnson... Johnson wins hands down in terms of policies, persona and vision....
Why do any of you respond to Falkland if you disagree with him? You are completely wasting your time. He has the same view held for over a year. I am looking at the share price and thinking, is it worth £1.98 or is the company worth £1.98 billion - and the answer based on a £0.5 billion EBIT last year, is absolutely yes. I've bought a few this week, and will not be buying a few more - I have maxed out on shares and then some more... this is the time to be buying when people are gladly handing over their shares for nothing!!!! Am buying a few more!
