I has taken a while but, I can now buy and sell Anglogold Ashanti in my Barclays ISA. :)

My retirement was part time in the Algarve until my wife had a stroke and we have been back in the Uk for some years. We have sold our Portuguese apartment . I recommend Portugal. Better climate and a long way from Russia ! Be aware of health costs when you are old ,health care cost can eat up a lot of savings quickly !

Well the market does not seem to like it.

I can buy more Anglogold Ashanti shares in my Barclays ISA. I just can't yet sell the Anglo shares that came from the sale of Centamin.

Thanks I have phoned Barclays this afternoon. I have less than 1,000 Anglo Gold shares so much less than many. Same message from Barclays , they are waiting on the American authorities to release funds before they can allow dealing in these shares. I am too old to consider changing from Barclays and the Barclays shares that I own have done very well. So I will not be moving my account in the near future. I did mention to Barclays that others are considering moving their accounts.

Sorry I have not phoned Barclays yet. It is on my to do list next week.

I will phone Barclays later this week . I will post answer. I presume that I can buy and sell . I imagine this will only be 'at best'

Thanks, retired GP ,I am in the same position. Anglo shares in Barclays ISA. All other shares in Isa easy to buy or sell . But no such button for Anglo gold.

I think only hope for this company is if it is bought out by a bigger outfit.

Thanks yes I am with Barclays and my shares are in an ISA. I have apple amazon and various other American shares that I can buy and sell in my ISA. But I cannot yet buy or sell the anglo shares. I am hoping that this will be sorted to over a few days. I presume I could sell if I phoned Barclays . I will wait a week or two. I would be interested on other peoples views.

That would be good, I have a few million of these. But unfortunately I think they will go the way of my Marconi shares a few years ago. ie they will go bust. Will they ever be able to pay their debts and become profitable ??

Barclays put cash and Anglo shares in my ISA account yesterday. I think Anglo pay a bi annual dividend although a low dividend . I was thinking of buying a couple of shares in Tesla because of their bitcoin holding. But I think bit coin may eventually be a pyramid scam. But the denouement will be in 5 or ten years time. I have always understood gold as money better than bit coin. But I would have been better to buy bit coin. Knowing myself I would probably have lost my key !!! Do others on this forum hold bit coin ?

Some improvment today

I have a few Amazon, Apple, Newmont and Barrick shares in my Isa. I am not planning on selling Centamin and I am just waiting to have a bit of cash and a few Anglo shares.
