I sold about half of my holding a month ago or so ago.

I have taken some profit and sold just under half my Anglo Gold Ashanti shares. About a quarter of my ISA shares are in US stocks . With Trumps dislike of foreign investors in US stocks, I am tempted to buy more Canadian mining stocks.

How on earth was Elon persuaded to support the yellow buffoon . Surely he must regret this now. Never ,never trust Trump.

I am a bit concerned about the proposed extra tax on dividends for non US citizens. I think it is in Donald's Big Beautiful Bill (ie the incredibly stupid Bill) .

I have various mining stocks. I have bought a few Valterra shares today. Increase my platinum exposure.

I keep being tempted to take some profit here, but so far I have resisted selling any and I actually bought a few more a month or two ago. But it reminds me a bit of when I held quite a lot of Fortune Oil a few years ago ; they were doing very well until two Hong Kong brothers took them private.

Another baby boomer here . I think my first buy of Rio was in the early 1970s, via my dad's stock broker, unfortunately as a poor student I had to sell them soon after. I have been buying into Rio again and I think I am about 10% down. I tend to buy mining stocks Centamin/Anglo Gold Ashanti has done well recently. But I wonder if miners are too easy to tax or have assets expropriated.

I am with Barclays and was able to buy a few more anglo gold Ashanti shares a week or two ago. I have not yet sold any Anglo gold Ashanti shares.

If one could discount the companies debts ( if only), this company could be bought for little more than a million pounds. Do they have enough unique and marketable technology for anyone, with deep pockets , to buy them out and exploit this technology ???? At present I am down 90% on this share and my expectation is that it will unfortunately go bust.

My feeling is to wait a few months and then drip feed it in . But perhaps if housing becomes a lot cheaper then Housing may be a safer bet. Ideas please.

All banks have a lot of business in the far east. Banks lend to businesses at home and abroad. If businesses go bust, bank loose big time. Trump seems to have started a world wide recession. I can't help thinking that the world would be a lot better if Trump and Putin were better people.

Perhaps Buffett was correct to hoard cash. I think the dollar has gone down less than stock markets.

I am planning to invest some of this year's ISA into this company. I think silver will continue to rise over the course of this year.
