RE: A few thoughts from the CMD7 Nov 2019 11:45
Without repeating too much from previous posts, my thoughts from cmd...
Tim Edwards, see founder and roboticist- we’ve never been in better shape as a company and poised ready for scale, I’m in a very comfortable place as a fellow investor.
Prof Mike Lenne, - having a reliable method of measuring risk in real time is of real interest to insurance companies in other regions.
-Our recent cost reduction is a real game changer.
-The regulatory environment that we are in is currently ripe.
Having a guest speaker IMHO was an inspired idea, his insight was particularly interesting and just a shame it was time limited.
Colin Barndon- There’s been a screeching u turn from the OEMs following the Elaine H. crash with a resulting huge increase in level 2 interest, and very little movement in levels 4/5.
- when considering ncap there are huge clues about the future for see.
- with ncap we are likely to see major safety increases every 2 years- it’s all about safety.
- those companies with the largest dataset win, think about google, Facebook, Apple etc
Nick Difiore- What keeps me up at night is now getting much less.
-ncap test protocols have been delayed from June but oems are getting proactive and moving ahead to exceed requirement potential with 6/7 year timelines.
- ncap protocols are likely in part this calendar year.
I was encouraged by the obvious enthusiasm bordering on excitement for aviation.
Pat Nolan - even with a helmet, tinted and curved visor and oxygen mask the tracking was still rock solid.
- with sims it’s not just about tracking, it’s about see tracking.
- Great synergies between simulators and on- board aircraft.
- low volume but extraordinarily high recurring revenue in aviation.
-OEMs are now serious, including the likes of business jets.
My personal favourite quotes of the day...
-The pendulum has fully swung away from R&d and towards delivery.
- And finally, a forensic summary of the day’s events from the lips of our very own Sebs, “what a great buffet “... classic!
