RodneyT - is it please possible to get an idiots guide as to how to vote no on HL. I logged in to the website today and the usual method I use to vote for AGM or EGMs as a corporate action is not showing. I am asking here as HL tend to take ages to respond to messages.

Rich3r - I have probably given the SP and chances of a counterbid a boost as I sold some more this morning. Felt 28.42 too good in the context of a 28p offer from a month ago so I have now sold 29% of my shares for a 27.967 average. Basically derisking for me. If the final price ends up being 28p then so be it and little loss by selling now (contrast to WG current SP with 30p offer on table and how long it took AA to go above 34p when 35p was successful offer tells me there is still a good chance of a counteroffer). I would reiterate my previous post that unless people believe there will be a counterbid or wish to hold simply to vote no, this is a great opportunity to sell above the JCC bid. I have retained 70% of my shares as I believe there will be a counterbid and am fortunate to have averaged down to 12p so am relaxed even if the bid is not approved by SoA and the share price retraces.

Parts of your message Theitalian are similar to what Warren Irwin posted on twitter a few weeks ago, albeit he lay the blame with Nick. Ultimately either there will be a counterbid (which Sangha and Irwin feel unlikely) or not. If the latter then the market clearly believes the Chinese valuation is correct. However, I do echo what others say on here that hedge funds buying at 27+p when JCC bid 28p and the sp being so close to the bid price already (compare to Wood Group at the moment and when the AA were a PLC for objective evidence of this) suggests the market feels there will be a counterbid.

No but I would raise a complaint because as a shareholder you are entitled to access remote or hybrid meetings. I did not try to attend today as felt would be waste of time. Either we get counter bid(s) or we do not. Posters I respect on here like profitsniffer and mattlilly feel there will be counterbids whereas theitalian is less optimistic.

The point I am making is you cannot just request access on the day. For other companies I am or have been invested in via HL such as Aston Martin, First Tin, ATYM, HL have arranged me access remotely or in person. I ask at least a fortnight in advance.

With HL you normally need to notify them at least seven days in advance of an AGM or EGM and they will get you dial in details if it is a hybrid or remote meeting. Some past Solgold AGMs have been in person only.

A number of your points montecristo2 echo what Warren Irwin said on twitter earlier this month when blaming Nick for Solgold being sold for less than what he felt it could have gone for. There is a chance of another bidder. But Irwin was a lot less optimistic than the likes of mattlilly, profitsniffer of a counterbid.

All – the only saving grace I took from the RNS was the twice stated line "Subject to satisfaction (or waiver, where applicable) of the Conditions, the Scheme is expected to become Effective during Q1 2026" i.e. we will not have to wait several months for our money.

Mattlilly – based on your posts are you still suggesting a Noront style scenario is possible where the bids in Canadian currency went 25, 55, 70 and 75 before a final successful bid price of 110? BHP were one potential bidder who have now given an irrevocable undertaking and Nick has also given an irrevocable undertaking for his 2.184%.

Fortissimo – one things you said several weeks or moths ago was in your experience Chinese companies never tended to pay what you considered to be full market value for a target. We do not know what (if any) dark arts may have been used. But a takeover of Solgold for 28p per share may be another example of what you feared.

I agree profitsniffer as his 2.184% is listed in the irrevocable undertakings in Appendix III Part A. No mention of DGR but surely would be unusual for Mather and DGR to vote differently.

Also the percentage held by directors is high, which is always a good sign. I am still out so good luck all.

I just wanted to say good luck to mattlilly and everyone else on here. I sold out at a 40%+ profit today. This is not because I do not believe in the company. It is because I am nervous what the fundraise may do to the share price. It is great the directors are subscribing to over a third of the new shares and the % they will hold in the company if the resolutions are approved. However the RNS refers to a non pre emptive basis and I am unclear where other circa 60% of the new shares go to. My biggest lesson on stocks since investing myself on 2021 is never be afraid to take profit. Hence my sale today, possibly tinted by what happened to AFC after their raise earlier this year. If we go back below 7p to buy I will be back. But hopefully for shareholders that will not be the case.

I do agree with pokerchips. The cash available was low at financial year end. So IMM were either confident of big news or another fundraise in the pipeline (hence me not risking a top up at 1.5p). As per my posts during the last big rise and I agree with maverickd, do not be afraid to take money off the table. This is a volatile share. Great potential but also risky (as anyone on here who was in DDDD will know). I was heavily underwater from my last two top ups at 2.79 and 2.39 even a week ago. I sold in tranches at 3, 3.32, 4.33 and 5.02 yesterday so now have a free ride with my remaining shares. This strategy is not for everyone but bearing in mind my average was 9p at the start of the year that is a massive turnaround. And my free ride is more shares than my initial 9p investment. Please also remember not to put in more than you can afford to lose.

Excellent post redknight. I am still down at the moment but can see real light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for your continued posts. Hopefully this will be like AFC in that after a brief retrace and consolidation goes on to 17-18p.

I was always told never to but of sell in first 30 minutes of trading. But today’s first five minutes really suggests something big is up. Appreciate previous comments re a revaluation. But last month or so is a lot more than that.

There may be a larger sell or series of sells going through as my top-up buy from earlier is not being shown on the reported trades. Fingers crossed for an uptick soon. Did not expect it to retrace below 2.5p.
