so, about £5.5m/ hr revenue, less operating costs.....13th May will be gravy, meat and all the trimmings!
Pretty impressive target raise from 84p to 162p on essentially static PoG.
If the PoG increases as a result of current tensions then the broker is understating the investment case!
Hope you're right Chester but as BoA has just reduced its holdings in CNA by quite a lot I'm left wondering why they don't read the tea-leaves in quite the same way?
its good to talk but reading is a different matter especially on this board. Could I suggest you simply stop watching for a while and try not to think too much about your paper losses for at least 3 weeks? After all, if you had the faith (and wisdom) to buy into this share you did so in the belief in its core value - hang on to that faith as tightly as Bamps et al - you know its right!
(I bought more today myself which has reduced my average from 18.7 to 18.1p)
Whilst I do have misgivings about the consequences of generating electricity by combustion of carbon based fuels biomass is infinitely better than using fossil fuels that have zero capacity to regenerate. Global CO2 is increasing at 2ppm/pa and if Drax and its partners can make BECCS work there is a real possibility to achieve zero or even negative carbon growth that does not solely rely on sequestering CO2 in semi-permeable subsea geological formations. As for the destruction of forests, yes this is not ideal but unlike Amazonian and other jungle environments where slash & burn is the norm, these areas are being actively managed and if replanted will within 25yrs be pulling out more CO2 than the trees that were cut down.
Drax should be positively encouraged to continue along this path to become increasingly environmentally friendly including adding more locally sourced biomass and converting its transatlantic shipping to switch from heavy fuel oil to Ammonia or similar 'green' power.
The video has been extended to show conveyor and ball mill action inside the processing shed. Now the monthly progress updates have been axed perhaps plans are afoot to record a dore pour in time for Christmas which might restore the winded SP or perhaps the BBC are planning a fourth episode...?
Now, now, stop teasing the lad.
He, for I can only believe its a 'he', is most assuredly in a twilight zone of his own however I would be worried if he started to post positive views and would see this as a major indicator to sell up as soon as I possibly could!
Would someone like to persuade me that as a troll, effix is actually gender neutral and should in fact be referred to as 'it'?
Well, someone is buying at this level;-
18-Nov-21 16:35:24 569.50 772,358 Buy* 4m
If you are prepared to sink £4million into the share at this price you must know something or simply criminally incompetent.
Admit it Effix sweet honey, you're a bit of a sour loser.
:-)
Similar but relate to different major share holders, Linde, JCB and Peter Hargreaves all of whom now have a slightly smaller percentage of the business. Whether this is due to the recent dilution or actual sale of shares is unclear from the RNS but doesn't necessarily mean that these are defensive sales. At this stage in the company's development its share price is somewhat tidal and although difficult to predict, is not of great concern. Of course, confirmation of some significant orders would be a reassurance.
You really didnt pay attention during your arithmetic or basic stats class did you effix? A quick review of the tend shows that in three of the past 5 years, the Drax share price actually rose over the colder months. In 2018 the share price did retreat across the year but this may have been related to unusually warm winter. In 2019/2020 its hardly rose before collapsing in early 2020. I seem to recall that most other equities were also part of that Lemming rush to disaster but presented an excellent buying opportunity which I was pleased to take.
I am sure you could restore your credibility if you were able to share the inside information you seem to infer you have access to but I rather doubt you can and a 'zone' equating to 8% around the current midpoint is a bit of a challenge for any share in the short term. Mind you, my GGP holding has made 25% today - does this qualify me as a 'big gun'?
Ps - did you enjoy the coloured chalks?
go on then effix, do please explain the reasoned arguments for your assertions because Drax no longer has any gas generation capacity (sold in Feb) and with biomas, Hydro and coal prices controlled or otherwise impervious to current gas pricing swings.
Todays lesson:-
It may have escaped your notice class, but the days are shortening and the ambient temperature is falling (we call it autumn) and this will be a trend lasting for about 6mths. Typically energy demand tends to rise during this period and being sensible chaps the folk that actually bulk buy the electricity will favour the cheapest suppliers. Ok, it can get a bit breezy but the sun tends to hide a bit so thermal power generation is the only realistic alternative to wearing coats indoors. Those generators that control their own feedstock prices will tend to do financially rather better than those that do not.
Any questions prat the back? No? Ok, I'll leave the coloured chalks for you to play with whilst I repair to the staffroom for a coffee and a smoke. Toodle-oo, class dismissed.
effix - a clock reads the right time twice a day and you are a tiresome young troll that has nothing of value to contribute to this board so please take your own advice, sell whatever holding you have (nil) and slink back under another bridge where you might find others of a similar disposition.
@OWLS - I'll hold your coat.......
Its a darn sight better feeling here than on GGP!
@effix - might I recommend you take some instruction from the sage advice contained within this time honoured fable?

I'd suggest that the villagers in the story represent the grown-ups on this board but you might identify with one of the other three characters.
If you can find an adult to curl up with I hope you enjoy the tale.
we'll see old boy! One of us might well be suffering the effects of humble pie and I am quite willing to admit it if proved wrong. With a welcome dividend coming in a few days time and sitting on a equity gain of around 90% I feel fairly chipper myself - how about you? ;-)
Given your past success predicting DRX price movement I'd suggest you change your diet or request urgent medical attention. I have little doubt that the readers of this board would be happy to suggest a particular medical discipline to whom you might seek advice.
In the meantime I too would encourage you to post more de-ramping missives as they do seem to have the opposite effect to that you appear to intend (currently up 1.7% today and still climbing back to 500p and beyond).

Scottish reticence sometimes eased by a wee dram....you pal might not have been applying the right degree of polite enquiry.
;-)
I for one am glad that folks are restraining themselves from unfounded speculation, squabbling and useless comment. Nature abhors a vacuum but please continue to find other things for your fingers to do until there is some real news to discuss.
Thanks for your patience :-)
