JustChampers - I've a history of bad investing going back decades. I was playing golf when Axion holdings ballooned to 27p, only to go bust hours later.... Norseman Gold, I bought at 1.8p and sold all the way up to 10p, thought I was a God until the price rose to 87p.... Amur Minerals, was talked out of selling when the mythical licence was issued, hovered at 28p, a 500% profit, waiting to 50p. They went pop at 1p.... There's been many more that I can't remember. So I decided to play safe and pumped my whole SIPP in to UK Gilts earlier this year. To be fair I've never paid above par value, and a lower price means you get more units for your coupon, but it still shows how bad I am at making money from the markets.

Surely there's a shortage of shares out there with so much tied up between two serious investors with no intention to sell. I can see this go part £2 in short time. It happened before when they were turning over under $10m, it'll happen again with a bit of buying pressure.

They've got more money sitting in the bank than they know what to do with. I just hope it doesn't mean that they've given up on the acquisition trail

No RNS on buyback since I posted but SP has stabilised.

Back in 2013 they issued a special dividend to distribute cash, but back then they weren't on an acquisition trail. Have circumstances changed since they initiated the buyback? Has the search for a new project meant that they need their surplus cash for something else? Is the SP rise reflecting a new opportunity within the company?

I wondered if the buyback is coming to it's end earlier than scheduled, but that the process has bolstered the share price. It doesn't affect my investing outlook but I think we could settle slightly lower than current SP. Always curious to see how these things unfold

SP drops yesterday and no 'transaction in own shares' RNS today. I think I could've been on to something ;)
