Some people will see negatives in this but I think it's pretty honourable
Possibly the most divided opinion I've seen in a share ever!
I'm in but almost certain that payment of any dividend will not be cancelled but will be deferred until the company knows where they stand. I think the cancellation of a dividend is factored in, at least I hope it is!
Visitor - great post.
I was thinking earlier that the illegal seizure of assets by the Russian government would not be tolerated, it would be like them being rewarded for this war. There will be measures in place
The bigger the drop, the more I intend to top up on. It's massively short term and I fully expect the UK government to drop all talk of a supertax on BP after their compliance. Long term this is a positive move
What did it close in the US?
Closing price 590p
ND
comeonvog
In at 526p out at 579p for a quick £90 while I'm watching some trash on TV
So volatile! Back up to 640p now!
Below 590p now so pretty close to 50% loss for the day. Not sure they can keep this from being suspended for much longer
HSBC share dealing has been stuck on 643p to sell 570p to buy for the last 10 minutes
Excellent post Tornadotony
Yep, called the swing completely wrong myself too. Had originally bought at 1140, sold at 1189 and was waiting for a drop. Set a buy order yesterday at 1134 which obviously hit and then panicked overnight and sold at 1018 this morning (automatic open sell while I was out working)
I obviously can't call this so will lick my wounds and wait hopefully for a big downward swing. To be fair, getting out at 12% loss felt a relief this morning!
Certainly a bigger than 20% drop in the SP
What is the consensus regarding the eventuality of the Russians having to stand down? Feels as if every scenario will rile Putin to the point where he may take spiteful actions, could seizing foreign assets within Russia be part of that?
cash rules,
Yep, signalled if there's more than a 5% change in price
Roger,
Sold 40% of my holding high 3s and don't regret it at all
The regulator will be aware of this leak and insider trading carries a big penalty. If it's Anonymous who is the inside individual then I can't quite see what they think they will gain from this.
Or,
Big money sitting tight
Cash burn = further share dilution just to stay in business
This is a really boring, drawn out, end game
FG, the notion that the Biden administration is in cahoots to stifle growth in the West in preference to aiding growth in China is preposterous. IMO of course
Total rubbish
