Far too much reliance by some on the 'finn cap' report in my opinion.
May I remind you that Finn cap are Parkmeads in-house broker. For those unfamiliar with the term it means that they are paid by Parkmead to generate those reports.
If they generate glowing reports one would assume they are far more likely to be retained...
I never pay any attention to in-hoise brokers reports.
If independent brokers start to take an interest and generate a report for their clients then that is one worth reading.

There have been numerous opportunities over the years to pick up stock at under 35p.
Once gas prices return to some form of normality (Spring 2022) I think another opportunity will present itself.
If you are interested in 'getting in' I would suggest you keep your cash off the table.

Another $4.5 billion of loans to be redeemed. I am glad to see shell using this period of 'plenty' to get our net debt position well and truly under control.
We are going to need to fund 'green' projects from a mixture of fossils income and new debt. The better our net debt position, the more favourable the terms.

Releasing results on a Friday had always bothered me somewhat, a good day to bury bad news is how I have always viewed Friday rns's.
Friday afternoon rns's are the absolute worst.
Results Monday/Tuesday would suit me fine, let's hope they are as decent as some have predicted.
I am not as optimistic as some. A small profit and a renewal of Platypus with an increased equity for us would be the dream.

I voted with HL earlier this week.
With HL you have to send them a secure message from your online portal. Select the AGM/VOTING subject for your message, tell them it is in relation to the royal dutch Shell EGM on the 10th of December, and how you want to vote (For the proposal to move to the UK, or against the proposal)
If you don't have online access just give them a ring.

I think this will push back Nordstream 2 for a few months, once the regulator gives the all clear it then has to go to the EU for final approval.
A brave move, possibly foolish, high prices and shortages are not vote winners. I expect the Germans to back off they realise the Russians have them by the short and curries

Nice thought but I think Taqa will want a buyer for all the assets. Tom likes to run a tight ship, taking on a mountain of debt is not his style (in my humble opinion)
Private equity backed NEO would be my favourites.

PMG has moved from being my largest holding to my smallest now.
Luckily I had bought the majority of my shares at 35p which enabled me to average down to the low 50s.
The money shifted into RDSB and DELT which have performed brilliantly.
If Platypus has gone and/or there is no firm commitment to develop Perth I suspect 35p is where we will head straight back to.

Apparently, the permeability is mostly in the range of 1 to 50 millidarcies.
Some beds measured in the hundreds of millidarcies with a maximum measured value of 638 millidarcies.
Is this permeability reasonable?

The point of my ramblings?
The Johan Sverdrup has as an API gravity of 28.7 and a Sulphur content of 0.8%.
On the face of it (to my layman's eyes) not amillion miles away from Perth.
Is this a fair assessment on my part?
Economies of scale obviously come into it, Johan Sverdrip has expected resources of 2.7 billion barrels.
However, despite the medium sour grade oil it is one of the cleanest fields around, with CO2 emissions only 4% of the world average. Due in the main to being powered from the shore.
Johan Sverdrup crude is very popular in Asia, particularly China
Seems a positive development for Perth.

My notes say exactly that, hydrogen sulfide varying from 2500-8500ppm, with CO2 of 25-42 mol% in the associated gas (source; offshore mag)
The geological society of London describes the hydrocarbons for Perth as:
Oil gravity: 30-32 Core Perth 30-39 over the field
Oil properties: Undersaturated black oil with sour associated gas; 1.4 to 4% wax; associated gas contains up to 42.4% CO2 and average 7350 ppmv H2S.
Porosity: 13 (0-22)
Average hydrocarbon saturation: 73%
