George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
I've doubled my holding today to 4000 shares.....granted not massive but all I'm willing to risk on the company and the macro factors. I do like the prospects here bit is not without risk..........but balance of probabilities alone I feel more in favour of a rise. My other concern is any aggressive price cap which would hammer eps. CNA still have to stem their customer losses ( I'd be interested to know how many posters here buy their gas & electricity from CNA?....I certainly don't...I'm with OVO).....They need to get more competitive.....I suppose the ageing population will assist CNA as they are less likely to switch. The low the other day when the Dow sank was still higher the the earlier low earlier in the month. 20 day moving average above 50 moving average......it's a punt...but I feel worth it at this level...my average now 1.426
The beast from the east has raised last months gas bill by over 40% from my winter average (I'm with ovo). If that is replicated across CNA customers, together with cold weather maintenance call outs.....should swell the coffers
Nice to cement yesterday's rise ......be good to break and hold 1400
Dow lost +600 pls from its mid day high of 24444
OT, If these things ever quadruple...I'll buy you a pint....I am optimistic...but that is way out of my sphere of hope. I do see a global bear market in the next 12-18 months....
Yes Woody is having a shocker. The entire index bouncing well today...but his patent capital fund showing red.. However I do agree with him ref GSK....the sum of the parts is worth more than the whole.
Very positive response.....it is a natural fit, no new processes to learn, it should be quite seamless. The most important point being as a JV so far we have had full access to the books... Had we done the Pfizer deal .....this would have panned. Due Diligence would have been much harder and more opaque.... The right deal was done....good work Emma
:)..... this could be the catalyst for a climb up
Slightly positive
It will boost cash generation and eps from the get go ( granted we are parting with 13 Billion!!!). Novartis seem made up reading their report. We will find out in 20 minutes what the market thinks though
Well, this came out of the blue.
Dow currently improving from mid session to +500 points. GSK ADR listed over the pond in the red....go figure!
Currently watching the Dow... If it loses another 800 pls in the next few weeks and crosses 23000 on the down side, the sell off will be steep....not saying it will....but somehow I think it will.....slot going on in the world.....60 Russian diplomats is no small thing.....wonder if the Russians have a trump video that will out do stormy Daniel's:) Every share will be caught in that......it will be turbulent..... keep cash on the hip. That said ling term this will be fine.......you just maybe able to buy it cheaper..
Ref your bear market comment...you could be correct. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dow-theory-sell-signal-is-one-step-closer-to-being-triggered-2018-03-23
The Dow theory sell signal has been around for over a century...and proved very accurate... Will like trigger next week if the DJT drops another 40 pls.....this will indicate entry to the next bear market......which we are over due Not 100% convinced....but neither would I be surprised.....hmmmn https://www.marketwatch.com/story/dow-theory-sell-signal-is-one-step-closer-to-being-triggered-2018-03-23
Good news with an ageing population
Your welcome. Something I find useful is having done my research and decided to buy, then I am content their is future value in a share and I wait. I would love the profit to roll in quickly .. but I know it won't. Patience is the key and I never give a mental time frame in which the share must improve....that is crystal ball stuff. I could be in barc (or Lloyd, GSK, CNA, etc) for 1, 2, 5+ years...I have no idea....but I see value in each convinced they will re rate. In the mean time I just collect the dividends. I try not to watch the shares too closely...there is no fun in that. Good luck
