No rush on gaining the leg up.....am waiting to purchase a few more but money from post office account take 2 days to appear in my linked account!!! I decided to start nibbling at BT.A shares today and when money clears may also look to buy MKS......not a recommendation....but I always enjoy hearing what others are looking at..... I was watching AA and FGP a few weeks back but didn't fancy the downside risk....looks like I was wrong and those boats have sailed... Good luck all

Can't honestly remember the scale of US operations for CNA. However, the recent cut in corporation tax over there is starting to feed through to earnings... Best time to buy when the press coverage is poor....if it was really positive you would be paying north of 250p

Never trust a " projected eps!!"....only one that has been achieved....they could quite easily predict say 27p and then write it off in an rns 12 months from now.....

This won't move for a while...but move it will. Is it cheap? Not drastically no. Based on 2017 eps actual earnings of 12.6p per share we are on a P/E of @11. Add in all the negative news of the last 12 months...profit warnings, exodus of customers, general crappy press etc then this is where it should be. Any good news refs an increase in eps ( asset sale, really cold winter, stemming the loss of customers etc.) Will then make this seem cheap and buyers will arrive. To expect 200p any time soon though on an eps rate of 12.6p is unrealistic until the good news arrives as it means a P/E of over 21

Just imagine if Putin turned the gas tap off....granted purely symbolic implications for UK but the market spike in gas price would not be insignificant.

Absolutely right.....Syria could spark a big pull back across the markets if handbags end up getting swung between Trump& Putin.....keep cash handy...I'm anticipating some very attractive buying opportunities across many sectors ( granted terrible what is going on over there and not looking to prosper off their hardship)......but this could be a real shock to the markets
