U.S. Department of Energy-funded project will see Endurium Enterprise batteries deployed to tribal reservation in Ashland, Wisconsin

I remain positive for MayGen. To me the strongest clue was in the repayment of the Crowfunding monies by Proteus, including 11% interest. They would not do this if Tidal energy was not going places. I have always been more excited about the tidal energy side of the business - this is original and highly specialised technology which they seem to have cracked.

MayGen project needs to proceed regardless of how much it costs imho - the world cannot afford to neglect any green energy opportunity.

The technology was valuable. Valuable enough for the government to block the sale of the company to the Chinese in the grounds of National Security.

This has resulted in the company being forced into administration as they were unable to service a loan of 5 million owed to the government.

Shareholders have lost. The UK has lost the opportunity to exploit a valuable opportunity.

Between the UK government and Neil Ricketts, shareholders of Versarien have been taken to the cleaners.

Why would anybody invest money on a startup on AIM ?

My understanding is that Donlim will be manufacturing the filter in behalf of Xeros and it will be branded Russell Hobbs for release to the market, should be early 2026.

My understanding is the new AR3000 turbine will need to have a subsea framework ready to receive it. It would be interesting to have more detail on what this work involves.

The government published the Contract Budget Notice for Allocation Round 7a (AR7a) on December 8, 2025. 

Tidal stream projects compete within Pot 2 (Emerging Technologies) of the CfD scheme. 

The budget announced for this pot is:

• Pot 2 (Emerging Technologies) Budget: £15 million (in 2024 prices). 

Tidal stream projects will compete for this £15 million Pot 2 budget alongside other emerging technologies, such as Wave, Advanced Conversion Technology, Geothermal, and others. For the previous round (AR6), the ring-fenced budget for tidal stream was also set at £15 million.

15 million is an absolute joke when energy investments need to be in the billions.

Spreader have released another delayed TR-1 from the 7th November- they have sold down again, no doubt to cover short positions. They don't have many left. Once this overhang is cleared we should have liftoff.

I think Jan Oliver Strych seriously misled a lot of investors with his postings and sucked many into putting money into this failing enterprise.

The AR3000 is designed to be the "workhorse" for commercial-scale tidal arrays. It represents a significant jump in size and power from the previous AR1500 (1.5 MW) used in MeyGen Phase 1.

The AR3000 uses a "smart cluster" design. Instead of every turbine having its own cable running to shore, multiple turbines can connect underwater to a subsea hub, sending power back via a single export cable. This significantly reduces the cost of subsea cabling.

Wind: To generate 3 MW, a wind turbine needs a massive rotor (often 130m–150m diameter) to catch enough thin air.

• Tidal (AR3000): The AR3000 generates 3 MW with a rotor diameter of just 24m–30m.

Efficiency Implication: The AR3000 is exceptionally efficient at converting space into power. It packs the same punch as a large onshore wind turbine into a machine that is roughly the size of that wind turbine’s hub (the center part).

. We know exactly how much power the AR3000 will generate at 3 PM on a Tuesday in the year 2035. This "predictable efficiency" allows grid operators to plan around it, reducing the need for expensive battery storage compared to wind.

Note: MeyGen Phase 2 secured contracts at £178.54/MWh (Allocation Round 4) and some later capacity at £198/MWh (Allocation Round 5). This "blended" price allows them to finance the construction of the new AR3000 turbines.

I am hoping Rachel Reeves will announce serious incentives for people and pension funds to invest in UK companies. Far too many British Funds are heavily invested in American or Chinese companies- it's almost as though UK companies do not exist. I would be in favour of allowing 25k to go into ISAs as long as the money is invested in the UK.
