What is more evil? If the Iranians build nukes, it would very likely trigger a regional arms race. Soon after the Saudis will invest [Sunni / Shia rivalry]; a must for Turkey [they think they are regional top dog and will not allow Iran to outgun them]; Egypt is a regional military power - got to keep up with the Jones; UAE sees Iran as an existential threat... So in a few years there would be many more nukes in the region; the same region that is politically unstable and home to many non-state actors.

And if we get dust from the Sahara when the wind blows from there, so we would get radiation fallout here... Maybe a messy regional conflict would be better in the long run? The choices are poor...
