When the Ukraine invasion ends and the Ruzzians go home, I doubt that the Europeans are not going to unfreeze putins cash... it ought to rightfully go to Ukraine for rebuilding. If this happens and companies with assets in ruzzia can whistle as long as they want but they are never going to see their assets again. The EUA shareholders / share price do not seem to reflect this probability.
POG - China, Ruzzia and many other countries are wanting more gold and less reliance on the $. Trump is only just starting on his road to fascism; he is sending the army into 19 States soon and wants to go 100% jerrymander and ban mail in voting / require voter ID for in person voting. OK is you are a white man with time to spare but if you work all the hours you can and do not have the required ID [like a woman whose ID is still in her maiden name] you just become less likely to vote [so a big chunk of Democrat voters].
RE: Sea the world in style with golden passport23 Aug 2025 16:10
Sounds good until pirates attack the ship and no country claims the passengers as citizens so does not want to help... or until a virus starts spreading on the ship.
Big valuations like that made me think about MAFL's effective 20% interest in a Costa Rican gold miner called Golden Sun Resources. The last we heard was that they were on target to ramp up production to around 25000 ounces a year this year with potential for more. The same set-up also owns the biggest set of exploration claims in Costa Rico. They {Golden Sun] seem to be operating as far below the radar as possible [no web presence] because the Bellavista mine which they have reopened was the site of a landslide that ruptured the liner of the leach pad and caused enough environmental damage for new open pit mines to be banned in Costa Rico.
The rising price of gold has put pressure on the Costa Rican GOV to change the law and allow new open pit mines again, which could make the claims they have very valuable. Unlike most AIM companies, MAFL does not promote itself or use any optimistic valuations. They have their 20% of Golden Sun on their books at the price of shares they bought and the convertible loans they hold which give them the right to the more valuable equity [not sure but probably around £1.25m as part of their declared NAV - how much is 20% of a company producing 25k ounces a year [needed 10k to break even] worth.
With the way some goldies have gone through the roof recently, I am hoping some favourable news could get overhyped by the ramp squad and give me an opportunity to sell a chunk of shares at a tidy profit.
The Daily Beast lady - I expect she will have her green card revoked... AP is reporting: 'Trump administration is reviewing all 55 million foreigners with US visas for any violations'
Not praising the Dear Leader could be considered unpatriotic and reason for expulsion. The flow of people booted from the States is going to put a strain on GOV [from those who have little £] and help keep house prices high [extra demand from those with a few £].
The UFO punters are reacting to an Aussie announcement about a linked company but the BOD of UFO have not seen fit to issue an RNS. Sounds like a lot of punters who got spiked over the last few years are averaging down but too much demand just forces the price up... will todays rise be overdone?
Significant investment and progress at both the Lagoa Salgada and Mont Sorcier projects
Positive Metallurgical results at Lagoa Salgada to be incorporated into Optimized Feasibility Study to be delivered by year end
At the Lagoa Salgada project, work continued across key workstreams with the goal of reaching a construction decision by Q1 2026. Ongoing metallurgical testing has already delivered positive improvements and is expected to be completed imminently. Management considers the previously reported improvements to Capex and Opex at Lagoa to be very encouraging, and they will be integrated into the optimization program for the OFS. Significant positive results using Dense Media Separation on the Stockworks zone has warranted further analysis on mine and plant design. The expected result is a reduction in processing costs from this domain, but requires further detailed work to be undertaken before it can be incorporated into the OFS. Parallel workstreams to complete the OFS are currently ongoing and it is expected that the completion of the OFS will occur by year end.
"President Trump said he plans to go out on patrol with the Metropolitan Police Department and National Guard troops around Washington, D.C., on Thursday night amid a federal crackdown on crime.
“I’m going to be going out tonight, I think, with the police and with the military, of course. So we’re going to do a job,” Trump told conservative radio host Todd Starnes on his show. “The National Guard is great. They’ve done a fantastic job.”"
A photo op with Trump in a bulletproof vest surrounded by heavily armed Brown Shirts... Better not ask about the Epstein files then.
Apparently, many other postal companies are stopping sending stuff to the US... Any company selling stuff directly to consumers in the US might be going to be release some unpleasant RNSs in due course [the $800 "de minimis" exemption has been axed from the 28th of August and the postal companies face penalties if the correct fees have not been paid]. And the rules are complex, making compliance even more costly.
They walked around their claim and found a rock weighing a couple of kilos with 26g a tonne gold... It is likely to have taken them more in time and petrol to find it as they probably walked around with metal detectors for quite some time. And one promising rock sounds more like hype to raise dosh than a gold find. Did they weigh the rocks that did not set of the gold detector...
Yesterday I posted: 'PREM - from the RNS: 'the plant at Zulu has achieved Saleable Concentrate on numerous occasions with grades up to 6,2% Li2O, and the result of ongoing optimisation is expected to be that this is achieved consistently.'
So another way of saying that is 'most of the time the plant has delivered defective concentrate which we hope will be fixed after spending more money optimising the plant; we are exploring options to raise the required funds for the optimisation'.'
This morning they raise at 0.23p; some mugs bought at 0.45 yesterday morning.
