Quite right there are many viruses we have never found a vaccine for, and I wish people would realise this before they make predictions about the SP and a vaccine being ready in August or whatever. Personally I am going to stick to my guesstermate of £7 before I buy back in.
I don’t see any reason to rush back just yet as the infection rate is continuing to grow and countries are starting to lockdown again.

You say you are an expert so maybe you would like to enlighten us as to why you think the vaccine will go on sale in August if the Brazil results are positive.

Yes many countries are producing a Take a chance vaccine hoping the results will be alright, but they won’t start injecting people with it until all data from the various participating countries has been cross checked.
The Brazilians may have a different genetic makeup to other races, after all its a known fact that the virus affects Asians and Africans differently and they have a much higher death rate. This is why it’s being tested in several countries.

The Russians were caught by several countries stealing vaccine data, and now they have quickly knocked something out without any proper trials. Would you take a Russian vaccine???!!! Whatever floats your boat.

There probably will be a jump in the SP if the Brazil results are good but, they won’t start making a vaccine until all of the results have been compared, to do otherwise would be unethical. These sort of things normally take 18 months not six. Anyway the next problem will be getting billions of people to have the vaccination to help create herd immunity.

When I googled it today it said the three countries test results will be compared and a final decision will be given in November. They might say the Brazilian tests look promising but, that’s probably all you’ll get and it means nothing without the other countries results.

They are currently conducting phase 3 tests in Brazil, the UK and South Africa and the combined results will be released in November.

What news in August are you expecting from Oxford?
I thought they just started a three month trial two weeks ago. The SP is going to continue drifting down into the £7’s until Sep-Oct before we hopefully get some good news. If we don’t get good news the SP is going to tank below £7.

There is no guarantee they will sail due to the new rise of infections across Europe including 1000 per day just in Germany.

With no vaccine news expected for at least 3 months and new virus outbreaks in many countries the SP is going to drop to the low £7’s

Trump is not going to let up on the Chinese until the elections are over because it gets him votes.

The last thing the markets need is more crap with China and no news expected on a vaccine for at least 2-3 months. If the markets in general go down it will take the cruising industry along with it.

With the Northern Hemisphere winter coming and the virus out of control in Florida, I don’t think there will be any sailing until June.

Florida’s infection rate just went from 1000 per day on average, to 1500 yesterday the highest rate in the USA and you still don’t have to wear a mask. Realistically it will be a year at the earliest before anyone can get a jab, and only then will the cruise industry start up in any meaningful way.
I just don’t see how the SP can go up in this environment.

What do you mean no more negative news? The US infection rate and death toll continues to rise, and is out of control especially where the ships sail from.
