ORONTO/LONDON Oct 18 (Reuters) - Hedge funds that bet on a big comeback for commodities enjoyed soaring returns in the first nine months of 2021 as the world faced an energy crunch.
"Demand could soften in the next decade as the world transitions to green energy, but in the near term $100-150 oil is not off the table," said Tim Pickering, the fund's chief investment officer. "On an inflation adjusted basis, the price of oil is low. Volatility will likely remain high."

Hi guys. I've just checked what we had today after close of trading reported with the London Stock Exchange.
Showing here as a SELL a lot of 1,100,000 with trade value £4millions and traded at £3.65 [O] off book and not a 'P' protected portfolio SELL that we've seen earlier this morning at 10:24 and 10:24 bst which were about 5 million shares amounts were apparently SELLS at £3.65 and 'P' trades. Also, if you look at London Stock Exchange Excel file for todays trades, you'll be able to see that most were also 'P' and 'P' Algo trades. Also there was a 20,000 SELL [TNCP] at 10:23 bst which could be do with Contract for difference pr CFD's transaction [O] off book. Interesting that the TNCP trades are in such a narrow range. Your idea about spread betting got me thinking - not so much about spread betting per se but whether this could be an indicator of shorting activity! One purpose of TNCP trades is where Securities Financing is taking place - the EU Articles require that where repos, sec lending etc is taking place then any related trades are flagged as TNCP. That could explain why we're not seeing large inflows and outflows of stock because sec lending, repos and all the other similar instruments are closed out - but if the margin is paid in stock then that has to be shown under MiFiD and if it is a daily margin call then we might see a recurring daily amount. I think the clue to this is the regularity of the share quantity - it would be a huge coincidence that every day all the firm's clients net out to approx the same quantity! But it's entirely consistent with margin payments. This of course is entirely speculative but nevertheless plausible. The logical follow on question to ask is, assuming it is margin related, do these daily TNCP trades give us any clue as to what quantity of shares are being repo'ed, lent? This I really just don't know - have you noticed any correlation between daily price movements in HBR and the TNCP trade quantity and direction? Are you able to tell if they are buys or sells?

17:48 bst late reported trade which I believe is part of the other 'P' protected portfolio lots but I'm awaiting for
the London Stock Exchange to confirm the trade above.

it's true what you've said, but why did they go that way with their hedges when Pmo knew already that the energy gas & oil markets were tightening and could see the 2021 as being good for the energy markets as a whole?

Are we saying that Harbour shot themselves in the foot just to please their bankers conditions and therefore been now worse off. I just don't buy it but anyhow I willing to go back into my cave and reflect on what I posted and wait it out till we know more in November and then In December on capital day. Many thanks. Did Harbour after the completed March 2021 acquisition of Premier oil actually continued with the hedges that were left in place by Pmo and we're left to believe that because of the banks conditions, they actually hedged a higher level of their oil and gas production at well below today energy prices? I don't believe them at all.

That Premier Oil Annual Report Financial Statements year to 31 December 2020 shows the real true picture of what are most probably the current ongoing hedges prices for oil & gas that harbour is producing across their world locations. This is just my opinion. Please feel free to discuss. (*__*).NoFear

It says the following in their:

For 2021, the Company has hedged approximately 13% of oil production at an average price of US$54/bbl, and approximately 36% of its UK gas production at an average price of 42p/therm.
So, why are we told that half of their oil is hedged at around $59usd and therefore missing the current high oil spot and gas prices too. Are we told the correct information or no? Is Harbour actually be making higher returns on their hedges since they said they have only got 13% hedged and therefore the rest is unhedged at assuming today prices.

Come on Soder? Where are you hiding! Work your magic and give us an update with what I just posted.
Where have all those claimed experts of the Oil & Gas industries gone lately.

The above trades have been confirmed today by the London Stock Exchange as 'P' protected portfolio trades which apparently and according to our LSE chat website and the ADVFN website as Sell trades. Anyhow, if you look through the list of trades appearing on the London Stock Exchange, many are actually been reported as 'P' protected portfolio trades and not necessarily these are big trades lots, but small lots too. Imo, these is now what I could consider the moving of the creditors shares into the free float shares pot. Since, last few weeks ago release of that £80millions protected portfolio lot and with todays £18millions pounds worth of 'P' trades gone through, it has resulted with the harbour share being pushed further upwards. Moreover, if more of these 'P' are to hit the MM's books, it would be assumed that it will
push us even further up in a very short time. GLA.(*__*).NoFear

Hi Rookie1. Forgive me if I grab the opportunity to post my info under your comment.

We're just around the corner from passing the £4 mark which imo has got very little resistance and will be in the history books once we're over it and move towards than £4.25 and the rest of the unstoppable Harbour share price rise. Moreover, we're been held back by the MM's as today just like the other oilers we've just dropped a tiny amount. Nevertheless, this should not in theory happened as the currently Harbour trading volumes are very low with Buy Volumes at 79,981 and Sell Volumes at 71,838.

them with the decommission costs? Also, most of what its taken down gets recycled, reused, ect. ect.

Very strong indeed laidback. Considering that the shares trading buy 300k and sell 300k volumes are imo so
small, it makes you wonder why now its obvious that the MM's have previously played the Yo-yo game to
get rid of the day traders and weak hands.

To all that had nothing good to say about harbour shares, this is the rise that you were asked to take a back
seat and enjoy with compliments of the genuine long investors. Watch your £1 short bets being wiped out.

Earlier this year, the regulator asked Shell for further information as to why it had not selected Harbour Energy's Judy platform as the tie-back host facility, "given that cost and technical viability don’t render the alternative unfeasible". Shell also claims that they were denied their previous Jackdaw scheme on 'political grounds'. I guess being a German company they didn't go down well with our UK governments departments.(*_*)Hahahaha.
