The vagaries and unpredictable nature of African bureaucracy aside, Bernard's forecasts have always proved to be on the conservative side. I wouldn't be surprised if the nameplate production rate wasn't routinely surpassed once up to full production.

Regarding the grade achieved and the frequency of testing, I suspect this is covered in an agreed testing regime as part of the take off agreement.

I disagree that the licence is 'irrelevant'.

With a workforce of over 500 to sustain cash flow is of the utmost importance. That cash flow is entirely dependent on Kodal being able to ship the product which is in turn dependent on the issue of the licence.

It's also good that the second $7.5m tax payment has been withheld pending receipt of the updated licence - an incentive for the Malian government to get their ducks in a row. African administration of such things are notoriously and painfully slow.

On the whole, I'm pleased with the update. One shipment ready to go with an ever increasing stockpile of 220,000t of ore to process which should go someway to ekking out the expected reduction during the forthcoming rainy season.

Bernard did say we would be producing by the end of Q1, however, he didn't commit to an RNS. That doesn't mean KMUK aren't producing and stockpiling.

The tax payment was due BEFORE 31st March so was probably paid at the end of last week, which, in turn, would probably trigger the licence transfer. The Marlian government work on a different timeframe and/or sence of urgency than those of us in Western Europe. Please just be patient and refrain from dissing those that don't meet your imagined expectations.

In the mean time I note that the team have been using the time to fine tune the operating plant. They might even have a stock pile of processed ore.

Kodal buy out SC? With what? Existing funds are all allocated to MRE drilling and there's a tax bill due in March ($7.5m) and it's yet to be determined who pays it. KMUK need to be in full production with a developed operating fund in place before they can start a buy back, which in turn would delay the phase 2 development. So, as far as ideas go, its a bit of a non-starter.

At least GR hasn't hit us with 'MAKE PREMIER GREAT AGAIN'.
