Will the worse exchange rate affect this share as in the update it stated that if things stayed at £1.10 to 1dollar then they be achieving above guidance. Now it's reading £1.16 to 1dollar

The government definitely know what they are doing and this share will explode on Nov 17th. The government have had to stabilise the energy sector and thats exactly what's happening , look at Centrica today. We will see the reward ...... eventually.

I'm sure they are filling their pockets as we speak. This budget won't be required given how the pound has rebounded on its own. The UK is stronger than we are being told.

But SSB's are to be completed by February so they can't exactly hang around until this share is worth nothing. Also if oil and gas are in such a dire situation how can Rishi tax the hell out of it.

How will the pound gaining ground to the dollar affect this share? Its improving pretty quickly. I would of thought being a British company it would be a good thing but from what I have read we still trade in dollars as per usual oil companies.

Won't the financial performance of the company improve too with the value of the pound increasing? Might be something to consider as the value of the pound can only improve from its 50 year lows.

Thing is given what we have seen in the last 12 months no government will want to experience such shock ever again , even Labour ! They have learnt from their mistake with cheap gas and oil prices and now that is behind us. Since then in such short time we have seen the industry become self efficient and UK energy companies are becoming debt free . The next 12 months are going to be massive for us !

They won't destroy an industry for political gain. Rishi has already planned the hero card today announcing a gas deal with the US, and the only reason why the US will give us a deal is because they know we will pay over the odds for it , the days of cheap gas are over and it will be a big money making machine in the future. As already stated here earlier there will be a windfall tax "to show that the government care" but along with it comes an industry that will make billions of profit in the future and a stable industry.

Bought in at 393p hoping for a safe investment. Seems to be alot of positivity here for the future along with a couple of negative comments. With Europe's transition away from Russia I'm sure the UK government won't want to nuke its largest independent oil and gas producer with announcing too much damage with WF tax on the 17th. With what has happened over the last 12 months to gas wholesalers the UK economy has endured a shock with energy prices , and it seems that has now been priced in to households and business. So therefor from now the UK government will be more responsible with its energy markets (none of these ridiculous cheap gas bills) and will look to make suppliers more financially secure , which can be seen here as this company will be debt free next year and therefor be a good investment and offer good returns !

Too true , however what I have realised with stocks is that if there is no incentive to keep hold of the stock , I.e no dividend or no extraordinary good news then the SP will continue to be traded , especially on the back of bad news with the Macro-economics. Saying that I wish I had kept my position yesterday and didn't sell at a small loss as surprisingly the markets have rebounded on the recession news. Thought we would be seeing 75p right now. The only negative I can see at the moment from keeping this share price down is the share dilution as the market cap is massive.

4 billion is nothing , especially small sums staggered between 2024 and 2028. It's all about free cash flow from now which they are achieving and with more contracts to be won the only way is up !

The debt isn't an issue , its small sums over the next 4 years which will easily be paid off with free cash flow, even more so as its very low interest. RR are definitely over the hurdle now and it looks like there investment in r&d will pay off big time. So glad I bought in yesterday at 81p !
