Looks like the covid19 testing side of things in general is starting to pickup across all providers with numerous tweets about phone lines etc being busy.

We have 3 covid related lab jobs advertised covering day/night shifts and weekends so maybe the tests we are processing is starting to rise.

Has anybody been into their local Boots and seen Clarigene for sale? I went to quite a large store and they were nowhere to be seen - asked a staff member and you had to ask for them at the pharmacy counter. At the counter were three stacked empty boxes (I guess this was a stab at some sort of promotion) and the tests themselves were hidden in a drawer. My point being unless you knew they were selling them you'd have no idea they were available - they really need some sort of display stand or at least sit with within the travel section or with other covid related products. Looking at the website at least the onine sales are picking up.

This is a massive contract - I think the previous tender mentioned around 90k tests per year and it reads as though this is being rolled out further this time. Illumina won the previous contract back in the dark days of the litigation so lets see how we get on this time with IONA NX.

Nice that this is actually going to tender as opposed to some other EU contracts that were renewed with Illumina without any alternative bids allowed.

He also said that our DPYD test is now being used in 4 of the 7 NHS trusts as opposed to 3 as in the Dec DPYD RNS.

Clarigene paper with info around its performance. Not sure if there is any significance in terms of why Yourgene submitted the paper or if it’s just done for general kudos.

I think the way it worked out ensured that all parties (suppliers) got a piece and further legal issues were avoided.

This should have started a year or two ago but I believe there were issues around the tender restricting bidders to NGS which ruled out the Harmony test and resulted in a legal challenge.

Unlike the covid side of things or how the core business is doing or the likelihood of getting near broker projections or whether something is behind this share price fall there’s no issue or doubt around St George’s and the NHS contract. Hopefully a few years done the line it will be expanded to all pregnancies rather than just high risk.

Not sure why the doubts around the NHS NIPT contract - we won the competitive bid for St George’s last year and they were selected to provide 1/3 of the national England NHS contract. So on top of the 15k or so IONA tests (my best guess based on historical figures and comments from various webinars) they were processing annually they now have the NHS high-risk tests.

I wouldn’t rule them out raising more cash if a further acquisition or other decision has been made. We know they are open for more.

There was a post before Christmas I think from Florida that alluded to something that was happening.

I think I read recently that over 100 of the approved PCR tests had been removed due to the variants, which Clarigene can detect. Not sure how many tests are left but possibly the wrong call not going for that.

In the recent RNS it says we are currently supplying 3 of the 7 NHS Genomic hubs.

Some good PR from Novacyt this morning reassuring the market that their covid test picks up the new variant of the virus. Got them a 10% increase.

Be good to see something similar from us but then so would having an idea on how many Clarigene tests we have sold.

Of course I hope that we get something positive and material but its never been the case here. We know the half-year numbers are not great (specifically the core business) so let's see if we get any reassurance around that going forward.

I don't actually have many doubts that we will hit the numbers due to the covid testing side of things but again I hope we get something that actually get some more detail around:

Number of clairgene tests sold,
what countries they are being sold to,
what countries we are hoping to sell in,
what advances have been made around the test,
testing capacity progress and new targets
maybe even a surprise re new covid tests being developed
detail on current/future nhs involvement

Around the core business:
IONA nx rollout and when we can expect more country approvals
etc etc

High hopes but low expectations for tomorrow! Good luck all.
