It will probably be FOTH that has brought up the pipeline play again, he brings it up from time to time when he gets board, he has even suggested that the pipeline could be shared with ESSO aviation fuel and cleaned with a pig when changing from one to the other, once you have put raw crude through an aviation fuel pipeline it will be contaminated and would take a lot of time and money to decontaminate if it could be done properly at all.

For a crude oil pipeline to be laid would take years of fighting for planning permission and the last time I looked it was about 5 million pounds a mile...maybe we should hope we get the maximum number of tankers we are allowed before worrying about pipelines...get the wells drilled successfully and the oil flowing...if in many years to come we have the problem of to much oil to transport who knows

I work offshore, on 3 on 3 off rotation, and each time I go back to the platform I( we )get greeted from the installation manager (oim) with a short meeting to keep us updated with what has been happening since our 3 weeks leave and part of that meeting is about production, we get told how many barrels produced daily over the previous week for the platform, then get a breakdown on how much the whole field has produced.The production figures are then highlighted every Sunday at the safety meeting, along with any planed drilling or well work-overs.Even the chef will know how much oil we are producing on a weekly basis.Possibly completely different onshore but that’s how the North-sea operators work

I have never been a fan of SS and the way he has handled the pr side of things, since the initial discovery at HH, not sure if he is now pumping so YA can dump, that aside every news update seems to be an evolving story, and if indeed SS can deliver some shareholder value as he has previously intimated, and indeed has some sort of master plan...I will eat many large slices of humble pie.
