Sorry 1st**
FYI the $40/oz jump on the 4th was from 2.53 to 5.13pm on the back of disappointing US data, coincides with your quick reversal post at 4pm. i suspect its most likely that looking at time scales.
Gold also jumped 40 dollars/oz on the 1st. 4th another $30 USD/OZ and 5th broke its ATH. alot of the movement is related to the gold price.
The reality is a rival bid is just a gamble, you'll have to think about personally what you'd rather. Give up with a small profit and let some opportunist's take your shares and park your cash into another cheap valued gold stock that you can potentially earn alot of money in but maybe miss the shanta train if something does materialise, or. hold out for another offer which could come or fail either earning you alot of money, retaining ownership in the company or wasting your time... logically i would usually choose the former but i am the latter because its not about the money for me now, its about making Saturn not get away with this sleezy move.
Lower political risk you most likely want to look at the american or australian miners.. likes of Barrick, new mount, goldfields ect. or just take smaller holdings in the juniors and spread the geographic exposure that way?
Although i agree with you they will look at gold on a 90 or 180 day average for NPV. Short term gold wont really impact the valuation although i am of the mind that gold is going much higher in the next 12 months. And yes SHG is worth alot more!
In the half year results they spoke of development bank financing. looks like they have exhausted all avenues with that or we would have had an update around this. the fact they needed to raise $1m for working capital shows how close to the margins they are. i was so optimistic on this October to December last year, wow how things change.
I don't understand what's the downside of them walking away, given the upcoming news and the fact its kicking out near its Mcap in EBITDA i don't see risks but benefits from them not stealing it from me at 15p a share. especially with gold going in a certain direction.
Id of done the same if i wasnt as petty as I am... given the court news today ill hold off until there's an ultimatum offer or they walk away from SHG. GL all and will instead for now take a small holding with my salary for now to build slowly!
15.15p inc divi is only c.11% higher than the previous offer.. 18p is at least what it should be worth, i will continue to vote down until it gets the value it deserves. anyone know when other news is expected, or do you think it will be delayed for this court date...
Had hoped to go into THX today but my pettiness and wanting to fight these hostile parties till the end means im now holding until atleast the end of march now... bring it on
To be fair, given the chatGPT style writing on why it matters what samson rock have done and implication to other beliefs i tend to agree with 1plus. doesnt add anything of value at all and makes no passing to the acquisition and what it means for the vote tomorrow ect. literally looks like someone typed in. "Write an article on shanta golds recent RNS from form 8.3 SAMSON Rock, make specific comments on what it means for stakeholders within the article"
Thanks both for this, looking like an oversold and undervalued company then will risks well and truly priced in.. Can see the massive upside on project opportunities too and will gold looking to be going one way im confident most miners can get favourable debt or cashflows to fund these upcoming in plan projects. Looks like THX will be home to a large chunk of my cash providing the outcome of Shanta Golds vote announcement tomorrow!
Its AIM, yeah it sucks but you could be long term invested and then the junior miner is snapped up for pennies on the £ you bought it or the miner gets liquidated. Ill take the positives otherwise you are just left bitter and resentful which does what good? in the meantime im happy to fight until the end to stop the Patels gettting my shares...
What is causing the current drag on SP, is it the same partial story as Endeavour with the instability of western african countries and the participation of Russia trying to gain influence or am i missing something. Looking elsewhere to park my Shanta shares and THX looks like a good investment if im fully capturing the risk that is, price currently easily does if its just that laid out.
Either way on the bright side we all atleast come away making money, its been a fun ride! 1 day away from the result, the fact pricing is not at the actual sales price gives me some hope there is at least some uncertainty on the approval of this... GL all
I prefer share buybacks if the share price is underperforming, more opportunity to organically increase earnings per share without any dividend uplift and cheaply too.

Looks like ecowas is now attempting to rebuild the bridges, hopefully can add some sort of stability to this area.
Happy vote closing day all, not long now!
If a bid comes in can the board legally reject higher bids and give waffle about why they choose Saturn or legally do they have to go with the top bidder. Also WK drilling results.... if this is voted down surely we get those before a second vote?
