Long term chart looks like vomiting camel pattern to me.

Given the price at which the shares have been trading in the market since this offer went out I'm surprised they even got the amount of acceptances that they did. It's difficult to think there were such a large cohort of very small shareholders in KAZ where accepting the offer represented the most beneficial exit route. Causes one to question if some of the acceptees are not part of the concert party!

Given the comments of the Company it seems this business will be troubled for a while. A small drop-off in revenue seems to result in a fair amount of loss. The situation for 2021 isn't going to be much better than 2020 as shops may have only traded for 3/4 of the year and on-line sales are small. This was a dividend payer, but the company thinks they won't return to that until 2025. Probably best to wait and see what they report at the interims.

Sentiment is subject to change on a whim. Too much ebullience. I think they will struggle.

The company voice has always been notably optomistic. The chart suggests overly so. The now claim "previous experience has demonstrated" that, during unrestricted trading, they are "profitable". But the figures for the last two years of free trading do not bear this out. Reality suggests that, driven by ego, they continually overvalue the business.

It may be true and easy to say a switch would have shown more gain after the event. But earlier one may not have been able to predict exactly how that would play out. Equally people may have already had a position in Glencore / Anto and not wished to consolidate their eggs. It terms of opportunity cost they could have exited KAZ and stuck it in Bitcoin and done even better. With hindsight.

Rastuss, of course there are a number of boards like that but this board is far from being one. No one is suggesting anyone else buy KAZ, only that the bidco proposals don't reflect fair value for existing holders at this time. So far, that's been proven a correct view by recent events. It's hardly a big risk holding on to see how this plays out.

In the meantime there is simply no need for anyone to consider the offer (unless one holds a trifling amount of shares) as, for anyone wishing to exit, it is possible to sell in the market at a premium to the offer presently tabled.

To suggest people are being "sucked in" in this case is really not fair and I think such comment should be withdrawn.

But they don't own 50.1%.

Similarly they may be an overestimate, NAV has deminished over recent years whilst day to day expenses are ongoing.

I think any broker might have a job to argue they were acting in shareholders' best interests accepting an offer to sell a holding on a shareholder's behalf at a price significantly below the market bid.
