The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
Looks like someone is selling off their position this morning.
By this time of the day this is the lowest volume I've seen for a long long time. Positive is no one is selling I guess
Let's knock the door down. It's now positive that we are now regularly testing that 18p level. Nordell any thoughts from a chartist perspective?
Target price reiterated at 55p
BDC I agree in hindsight the fear was hopefully unwarranted, but I certainly don't think you can say it was "fear-spreading games". Games would suggest there was something underhand about it. Ultimately, I think it was simply people worried they were going to lose a lot of their money.
Could we potentially get a boom today? No doubt this will curse it...
I think it’s now early 2023 isn’t it?
It was exactly what I and others were asking for last week. Reassuring that things continue to head in the right direction.
CEO I respect your input and knowledge that you provide to the board. It does however seem that whenever Hydrogen is mentioned it triggers you. Iam interested as to the reasons behind that? We can all have different opinions and that's great and is what boards like this are for. For what it's worth Iam pleased Char have a Hydrogen stream to their business. In my opinion whether we like it or not it is going to be a major part of the next 20-30 years and any company like Char will need to be involved or be left behind.
A lot of buys in the last hour. I have probably cursed it but could we have bottomed out for now? Or to steal a users name is this a dead cat bouncing?
Completely agree Jimmy. As I said earlier given the past few days Char need to come out and reassure us otherwise the SP could deteriorate further over the next two days unnecessarily
I think you speak for all of us Mitegap. I think I am right in saying this is the longest we have gone without an RNS since the start of 2020. So much for keeping us SH updated. I know there were a few on here who were saying in the summer to expect a string of RNS before the end of the year. My big hope is the reason for the silence is that negotiations are at a sensitive stage. It also very significant that Chariot met with ONHYM for a full week last week. You don't invest that much time with another party unless things are seriously progressing.
What I struggle to understand is why over 100m shares were snapped up at 18p per share in the fund raise in May but now the volume is so small when the share price is even more attractive to investors. I am not an expert in these things so is there something I am not understanding properly?
I am often guilty of feeling pessimistic about things and focus on disappointing news but don't then celebrate the good news. A week or so ago the SP broke through 18p and I think at one point was 15.33p. There was quite a few on here sounding pessimistic about this and to be honest I was a bit. I thought we may get stuck around the next level of support which I think is around 14p. Its therefore been great to see this steadily rebound over the last week to 18.50p. My maths aren't always great but that over a 20pc increase. Despite that the SP has barely had a mention over the past week.
This is not a criticism of anyone because I am just as guilty but I guess just a reminder that if we let the disappointing news in the SP get us down we should also celebrate the good news. And yes before anyone says it actually it could have all been seen as good news as it was a great buying opportunity but I suspect there are a lot of us on here who already have our fill and just now want the SP to go north.
Anyway here's hoping for a great Friday. Jimmy if "boom" is only allowed to be used for a 10% increase in a day do we have a phrase for a 20% increase in a week?
Yes it does certainly look to be the case that the 18p support is gone. Like you say the question is when to pull the trigger. Would be good from a chartist to know where the next level of support is. I do still struggle to understand how we have gone from 24p to 17p despite all the good news since then. I suspect the last couple of days is more to do with the mine budget catastrophe but its still been sliding since long before that.
Thanks KB. I wonder whether Nordell's charts may reveal anything. This feels like the first time for a long time we have dropped below 18p and are a bit stuck below it now. I know some were concerned that if we dropped below 18p the next support level might be at around 14p. As you say though the fundamentals in Chariot are excellent so it might be a topping up opportunity. I do still find it difficult to understand who is selling though when the fundamentals seem so strong.
Have we lost this support? If so how low could we go and how quickly?
Morning all,
I appreciate the buys and sells recorded on here aren't always accurate but taking it at face value there are some significant sells today. I count six today of at least 100k shares and one of half a million. From those who know about this sort of thing is that likely to be all one investor getting rid of their stock?
I recall earlier in the year a large investor got rid of most of their stock (going under 3%) and once that selling cleared the price started to move in the right direction. Could something similar be happening?
Nick
It would be great if people would be kind enough to provide updates from the AGM tomorrow for those who can’t make it.
In terms of the Q&A my key question would be the timeline.the recent reports suggest FID early 2023 and first gas early 2025. That’s a slight slippage from news a few months ago. Can we have assurances that isn’t going to slip further? I appreciate nothing is a given but can the Board (knowing what they know) give assurances that FID is very likely to be early 2023. Does early 2023 mean spring at the latest?
I’m sure a lot of the questions will revolve around the timeline but it is really important for a lot of investors.
Thanks
Nick
I must confess it is becoming harder and harder to understand the buys and sells with Char. A big bit of positive news today yet double the amount of sells to buys. I know some of you link it to the fund raise with people taking their 2% or so but I would have hoped to churn through that by now.
Sadly I can't be there tomorrow but it would be interesting to know from the powers t hat be how they feel about the price action (or lack there ) since the fund raise.
