Maybe some here would be more comfortable answering any/all such questions face to face.
My pub car park get together idea got zero traction though.. and that Burger King by Aldgate East talked about get together had little legs too.. so here's to a good bull and bear get together for a chat idea here :-)
Colin Bird is to be found hanging out around my nearest Little Waitrose and Tesco Metro - both on Old Brompton Road, South Kensington within 100 meters of Xtract HQ - so I'm doing some of that by betting here thanks Olderandwiser.
I'm only getting quoted 6.12 p to small sell now.. was getting 6.90 ish later yesterday arbo.. ( I actually sold a bit at that yesterday arbo .. the bit I picked up cheap nearer the low on Tuesday)
Buy quote is down from 7.60 too to 7.10 too.. so real spread not nearly as big as the ridiculous 6 / 8 surface quote granted.. but it's still punchy enough. and traders will still, in the round, be discouraged by even this spread, alas..
I'd kinda open to having more of a go at trading this in the coming weeks.. but the spread still needs to further tighten and stay tightened for a while too for me to do that
''Is he creating value for us or for someone else? You never really know with Colin..''
Interesting question Ben 'Owell...but I'll leave it to others to answer that...
As it's a slow day, and for my own entertainment, I'll look to derive my own question to answer from the above but taking out the ''for us or for someone else'' bit leaving : 'Is he creating value''?
To the extent of him directly and indirectly paying salaries for a bunch of people - who pay taxes, buy stuff etc - he is certainly contributing his bit to keeping Capitalism ticking along, in fairness to the man. And there's always the chance he'll find what he's looking for too .. and that becomes a production mine.. and the sundry further value add that can come off the back of that... as in Manica for a small eg and Kiwara for a big eg
And to the extent of us Shareholders getting lucky then we can/could derive financial benefit here too.. Granted the History of AIM especially generally shows that shareholders are often effectively 'donating' our money... in such circumstance I absolutely believe we're adding value to the World..as in us allowing all the above to ever have a chance of happening in the first place, so fair play to us all too. And whenever I get annoyed/incredulous/despairing of this game, I always fall back on the thought that by even playing this game, at least I am doing a bit to contributing to the World ticking along:
Happy bank holiday to all
Thanks, and I get exactly what you're saying now.
PS; Still, please scratch my ''Generally, the poor ratio of invoiced sales to placed orders has been and seemingly remains a thing generally here, I fully get'' line in my last post below .. I wrote that without doing enough of a back refresh for myself of 23 /24 RNS.. and I now think this sentence of mine is defo. too harsh/kinda wrong.. invoiced sales to order received over the year is generally not a poor ratio .. it's a reasonably good one actually imho..
Are you referring to placed orders last year that had yet to be invoiced at year end 23 ..and would have hopefully been invoiced thru q1 2024 -or beyond - Smalleyus?
Generally, the poor ratio of invoiced sales to placed orders has been and seemingly remains a thing generally here, I fully get
Top of the LSE risers leader board today as I type should help
(When you click into the full list, at least .. doesn't show on the top 5 headline summary list, alas)
I'd guess a few trader players might get involved here off the back of that..
Also on relisting yesterday, the immediate fall was epic.. and some may see that as over done..
..etc
IMHO & DYOR
Towards balance to my earlier post, I haven't given up hope in Simon Lee 40p coming true here in the end ... and much patience here is fine by me
The orders received in April is very impressive imho.
Obviously what's invoiced is the key indicator generally though, and the extra actually invoiced in April - on top of q1 invoicing previously notified - is uninspiring.... But my guess now is that that strong orders month in April will see both May and June have decently better invoiced sales numbers ...
Also lets not forget that the second half of year is much busier than the first for orders as a rule
So in the round I could make a pretty good case for this s/p being decently higher than 2p now.
And the tranche I sold recently - in early 2'sp - I bought back just now (in early 2'sp)
(And I was tempted to buy another tranche on top in truth.. but stopped myself because of the history here)
PS: Watch out Black Cat Burton's about :-).. but I see him as right to blow the trumpet here today, in fairness..
Ahhh.. hell.. I've just added some more.. here's to 10p this arbo so :-)
Thanks for that feedback Razza,
Ps; is that you buying these this lunchtime ?
(must admit I've been tempted to add a few more in the last 30 mins.. but have stopped myself... so far )
(I wasn't on the call ... RNS this morning said most all too, you'd expect)
For a small while I'd hoped/guessed it might become a priority share for me but I'm plenty less sure of that now ( my small to mid size bet here has been and might easily remain very slow to see any further grow out )
The BIG hope here is always the Anglo expertise/ drill bit.. NvS had skills enough to get the JV done, at least.. but is limited in an awful lot of ways .. and is of course significantly overpaid .. and 'weasley cute ' enough to ensure he'll not be pushed aside here..
Ps: While the abusiveness on this BB was a shock to me at first, I'm coming round to finding it more entertaining as we go.. and so I've got that to keep me engaged here too :-)
I'm open to doing a bit of trading here too grsshaw.. and great if this rallies on up on coming weeks/months..
While I get the markets are a mare generally, this being oversubscribed by a queue of blue chips wanting to throw money at this leads me to offer that this could of course have played out better for PI's..
Generally, while I still like this plenty, it's one of many AIM shares I hold, and versus others in the round, it has overall actually gone down a bit in excitement terms for me today .. I still have pretty high hopes for this from here .. but lets not forget this was decently over 200p at it's peak and many long/medium term PI's continue to be beaten up again and again as we go here..
(Ian Selby is a Director here.. Is Jonathan David Selby Cranston one ?)
Who exactly is this recent Tr-1 holding double downer, Jonathan David Selby Cranston, please Razza? And what is his relationship to Ian Selby, if any ? etc ?
I'd describe the placing price as average, or semi decent at a push.. And I'd describe the overall size as around twice what I would have guessed.. so a hell of a lot more shares than I expected in play now..
This company is extremely well cashed up now granted, giving it serious bandwidth to invest to maintain it's market leadership in a hugely growing /exciting space..
Also we have a fine array of blue chip size shareholders, thus underlining ies.l's pedigree
And I have high hopes for late 24 and all 25 here now..
(Generally, I intend watching quietly for a good while to see how/where this settles down .. As I did two top up ahead of placing I'm thinking I'll not partake in this PI offer.. My top ups were a bit higher than current s/p but on a scheme of things it's little difference.. and they brought my average down somewhat too .. Alas my average is still a decent ways higher than 23p .. but Schroders for eg will still be somewhat higher than mine after this raise, at least (they were a lot higher again before - maybe 70 to 80 p ish i'd guess then - that coming meaningfully down again now.. granted))
Stationmaster AND Shep !
I was in and out of this a fair few times over the years.. made some gains from range trading this but also sold down/out for a small loss a few times too.. most always had a few k bet in play only.. and sold out most all of my last in play bet on the spike ahead of delisting, at a small profit that time round.. but overall a few grand down from the journey I'd estimate.. given what a mongrel this has been I'm fine/lucky with that .. hence that small top up punt here now..
Sad situation for plenty I get and I'm sorry for your trouble here..
A sick joke really ..
And all I got left to offer is: This time next month, Rodney.. You know it makes sense
To that end I've doubled plus down here .... but it was from a less than 500 gbp left at suspension place granted.. and this latest bet a total punt for the hell of it.. here's to an RTO quickly please..
Best I leave you in the capable hands of Mr Zap, Cruella
Perhaps elaboration is better left to good creative writing types with big twitter followings Mr J. Zoo :-)
Speaking of good stories; how many of you have heard the one about Anglo American looking to increase their booked Copper Inventory in short order towards helping BHP come back with an improved offer.........
....And Anglo American Senior Management giving Mr Colin Bird a call back regarding his long requested chat about exercising their option to buy out a significant scale copper porphyry in Australia that goes by the name of Bushranger
