Exxon too are exiting the NS .... that will create competition, not for the buyers but the sellers ..... they need to sell BEFORE the buyers have been exhausted. This will imo, lead to better deals for the buyer as there is only a finite number of them in any market, when you have a situation, as in this case, the possibility of oversupply, the price one asks usually drops.

It's worth noting that when the hedging was taken out it was to cover $200m Capex, since then the 2020 CapEx demand has at least halved .... so you and I both know what that will do to our available CoH. Just for TiptonDave, in other words over $100 million lower than originally budgeted would mean another +$100m cash in the bank.

Before we answer your silly leading question, how about you think about what RRE will be earning this year, lets start with that shall we. Or better still, what FCF are RRE generating weekly, then you will get a better understanding of where a company with ~£22/share in CASH atm, NO debt share price is heading, certainly not to 35% of its cash on hand ...

Don't think you can really say that as it will be as you insinuated, influenced by external factors too. However, given the right deal and the positioning of RRE for possible further bolt-on's, I have to agree that £40-£50 at some point next year is more than a possibility in my book. Although as it stands >£20/s should be our absolute minimal expectations.

Dividend hunting traders will be looking closely at SQZ atm for capital growth alongside 3p/s dividend next week in return for little effort imo

Plus they extended the OPEC+ 23% cuts for another month ... should the POO not be where they want it by early / mid July, then I would expect a further months extension too.

Not that is the $64m question. For me, its an easy answer, and imo it's not for an acquisition. Sale or merger are the two that I back, why ? Well, with ACW et al we have enough proven experience carrying out acquisitions as shown over many very successful deals that have gone before, without the need for expert services of 'Kiosk Kate'.
How much disruption Covid has added to the timetable, who knows but Kate is now almost into her 2nd month. There appeared an urgency with her appointment back in April, as it took immediate effect, so Kate's skills were already required and in great demand by our BoD imo.

Like you, I would like to see SQZ grow into adulthood ..... alas, I think our baby will fly the nest, into the arms of another all too soon.

Well, several options are open afaic. We could merge with RRE or they could merge with us. Could be a standard horizontal merger where synergies and scale can be used to make further acquisitions. How would it work, well we could do a 10:1 merger ( as equals) either way into one another, problem is always how the BoD's will be amalgamated. In this case I would have thought majority of SQZ would take 'a backseat / retirement' given their personal circumstances, leaving Andrew and Mitch at the helm. Another option is the formation of a new company and RRE / SQZ to reverse into, lets say, "SericaRocks", with new share capital, which may even include an open offer for market to participate to build the war chest of currently ~$500m.

Or could just be a straight t/o of SQZ by RRE or a PE firm..

Either way, 'Kiosk Kate' has all the experience to guide SQZ through the challenges ahead.... not long to wait imo

Simple, pre Covid and POO price war (which has nuked the markets), RRE was trading happily between £17-£22 what you would expect given the last deal was yet to bed-in. Since then the market has taken full advantage of the circumstances and held us back, why, imo they know AA will do another blockbuster deal so naturally they want in. Just have to analysis the trade types and you will understand the logic.
