There is always value for smaller, nibbler companies with low overheads and minimum management in the NS to take on Seven Sisters discarded, unloved and out of fashion assets and turn them into the bell of the ball. Been proven to work already, so is the model ready to hit the catwalk I ask myself ? ..... I think so.

There certainly appears to be opportunities presenting themselves in the NS atm ..... BP / Exxon alike are writing down their assets and looking to exit the NS, which means value ! Like it or not BP and Exxon et al are now in competition to off-load their assets before the buyers are exhausted. Could mean some absolute stonking deals for AA.

AFAIK, when a material change to the business occurs or concerns about trading in the stock (ie fraud / insider trading). In the case of RTO, temporary suspension happens when the acquisition has a greater value than the acquirer, as was the case for the Marathon Oil deal.

RRE and SQZ to merge, then acquire Exxons NS Assets. Combined cash would be >$500m so would only need to take on minimal debt. Not sure what production figures are for Exxon (seen 80kboepd), but we could be looking at a company producing > 130kboepd for a combined Mcap of today of just £470m. Think you can easily treble that on such a deal imo.

Could also explain why our SP has been held back for months. A deal of this nature would possibly require debt, AA is anything but slow when it come to figures ....

Having said that a PSA akin to SQZ BKR would be a possibility too .... small upfront payment of $200m, rest over the PSA 4 year agreement together with staged payments every 12 months.
