I'm not saying the the era of the ICE is over, just that I think 2030 is pie in the sky for Joe Public transition atm. Options have to be affordable and practicable, neither of which are anywhere close atm imo.

BP have started their metamorphous from 'hydrocarbon energy' provider to becoming an 'energy' provider. Glad I hold so many BP as I have no doubt that BP will become one of the new 'seven brothers'.

That would eliminate the need or worry about range anxiety. During your journey, low on charge, car, auto finds charge point, self-connects .... during which time, you disembark car 'A' for car 'B' and continue your journey with almost zero interruption. Auto makers do deals with government to sell / rent their cars in return for a royalty, Joe Public then pays what ever the provider demands or you go nowhere ... lol

GS will always play their position. You can bet your bottom $, that GS et al are now fully position on hard commodities ready for the next 3-5 years bull run after shorting the ar$e off these FTSE companies in BP, RDS (25yr lows) et al. So yes, I fully expect a bull run which has already started imo to be as exciting as the any other. Buy and hold the major players and also look into the overlooked, unloved smaller AIM companies that too will show great returns, although much more care and DD required when picking these.

Society can not be compared to the early 1900's to todays wants and needs of the population, that's the stumbling block imo. How did the population travel prior to the ICE, yep, horse, or foot so that limited their ability to travel. Today, we can travel easily for work, pleasure etc so this need for ease of movement has to be maintained or bettered for people other than early adopters to want to move to electric ..... The gov is, by the 2030 ultimatum is, in effect forcing us to pick between maintaining our ability to travel ( electric cars) or returning to the 1900's. aimo

Forgot to add, that two of the four points were only 7kw (not much better than a 3 pin household plug, granny charge) the other two were the 43/50kw fast charge were the ones 'out of service' ...... lol

Agree, long, long way to go before charging stops becoming a barrier.

Had a look at my local area on zapmap, 4 public charging stations, with 5 charging points, 2 of which were were currently 'out of service' to serve a population of >85,000..... lol

Think you are missing my point Chinch, any form of military action or conflict in the ME will directly impact POO, hence the link to SQZ ..... A drastic fall in wind output saw the UK spot power contract climb to GBP68/MWh for delivery Nov. 26, its highest since 2018's March beast from the east episode, and as wind output was forecast to fall below 1 GW during most peak hours.

Profit-margins for 50% efficient gas-fired plants were at the highest since 2017 at GBP25.02/MWh for Nov. 26 with hourly prices spiking to GBP313/MWh for 5-6 pm UK time.

Platts data show NBP day-ahead gas up only slightly to 40 p/th for Nov. 26. "Prices are going to get more volatile like that... It's all down to wind not turning up," a trader said.

UK month-ahead power contracts remained at a premium to the Continent with active flows seen for the first time on the IFA2 interconnector after it entered its commissioning phase on Nov. 16.

Around 0.9 TWh of net exports had flowed from the UK to France via IFA 1 in November, data from Platts Analytics showed.

With OPEC+ meeting next week we could see Brent hit $50 which would be nice, although I guess that may already be priced in on the assumption the proposed increase in production will be pushed back to Q2 2021. Should OPEC+ surprise the market and announce it as being H2 2021, then could easily see Brent fly through $50/barrel.

Strong gas day today ~+5% at +41p/therm atm. Brent keeping it head above $48/barrel too.

SP closed down 2pts, ended the week level , still only put on 1% to our SP since vaccine market rally 3 weeks ago......... Oh well !
