Agree, managed decoupling sounds reasonable, then if EPL situation improves all the better, however if Mad Ed replaces Rachel from accounts with this clown at the helm, God help the UK.

As the SP climbs / falls then the headline dividend rate changes, divi ratio is only important against your purchase price.

HBR are clearly focused on the America's and US listing, so UK assets could be sold for a song ! Their recent Waldorf acquisition was imo to sweeten the UK assets with tax losses and see if anyone has a sweet enough tooth.

Absolutely and for me that's what the market is missing atm, US will be the future for HBR. Linda has for several years been very vocal about the EPL and valuation given by FTSE and without a doubt move to US listing is a certainty imo, just a matter of managing the off-loading of our UK assets as this will be a drag on any US listing.

As the RNS stated, this is a "Strategic acquisition" aimed at strengthening our presence in the America's (US / Mexico / Argentina et al )

With this deal especially, HBR future clearly lies in the US so it follows that US listing is drawing ever closer, which would mean that HBR would re-rate and become valued more realistically not the joke valuation that it is now on the FTSE.

Maybe Shell might make a move for us now !

They would not be happy with HBR taking LLOG right from under their noses.

As for us overpaying, possibly by $100m and no more imo as Shell were willing to do a deal at circa $3bn, which once they knew HBR were in the race would of probably upped their offer, but clearly by not enough. Good deal for LLOG and potentially great deal for HBR.

Hence, we are preparing the ground for US listing and exit from UKCS.

With latest few acquisitions it's clear HBR are looking to hive off UK assets in the near future and focus on US.

Lol, see moan 'n' groan has been told to post a half positive comment by his boss, otherwise risk being removed from lse. Guess Justin is also keeping a close eye on that particular account too.

As for todays RNS, just remember where Octopus Energy came from and it's growth with Greg as a great leader, there are a lot of similarities with ITM and Dennis imo.

Disruptive Approach to market, Technology driven, Market Dominance, International Growth, Customer Focus and great culture.

Wouldn't be out of the question if Octopus and ITM merged at some point, just a thought !

ITM is quietly getting on with what it does best and will become a behemoth of a company a lot quicker than most would imagine.

No reason why ITM shouldn't become a respected FTSE100 company .

So real world impact on prolonged EPL et al taxes, we now have UK tax payers supporting an industry that could thrive on its own, pay income to HMRC if only the tax regime wasn't so punitive. Ironic situation !
