As has been agreed oil isn’t going anywhere for a few decades.

The problem is…Who is spending money on exploration at the present time ?

Answer…Not many and not much….

Just as an aside I know there is a few billions barrels of oil going cheap at the present time...Falklands....

Very good analysis Char and fully agree short term could be a spike but equally carry on its trot.

Gas is still crazy and will be through Q4 & Q1 and then things might calm down as Nord pipeline comes on line. I know we invested 100s of millions in this but not sure what the deal was for Shell.??

Our beast Prelude must be making hay and we are I believe the 2nd largest gas supplier in the world so looking good.

Getting rid of Shale seems sensible as it goes towards our new identity, we got a decent price for the asset and it gives us financial strength to use this money in a positive way.

I also like our renewable strategy with is in some cases organic and just expanding our own businesses.

I sold of of my BP shares as something just didn't feel right but who knows. Cant put my finger on it....

So, whilst £15 seems to have taken a long time I can see £20 by end of 2022 and that at 33% would be amazing.

So these dudes increased their holding yesterday from 2.98% to 3.05%. Not much but there must be confident....

Oil 75.5$ up 0.5%
Gas 5.00 up 2.0%

So the madness continues this morning.

Looks like it will end up as a decent week for Shell.

Personally, not keen on these high oil and gas prices. 60-70 good, higher becomes a problem.

Think a lot of people will suffer and wouldn’t be surprised if worldwide we shoot ourselves in the foot on the economic front.

Petrol queues tomorrow whenever one starts panicking….

Fingers crossed things will settle down but I don’t see it for a while yet.

On the plus side it should push up higher and higher in the coming months…

If they are bailing out the big 6 I would imagine we could also get bailed out.

Plus I wonder if Shell Energy might use this as an opportunity to grow their customer base. We have may advantages over the small suppliers not least very deep pockets…..

There is a belief that there will only be about 10 energy companies reaming in the UK in a few months time.

There will be the Big 6 and a few others.

Just wondered how this might impact us and how Shell would deal with this ??

So we have lost 40% of GOM production for a while.

Any ideas how much this is please?

That’s exactly my thoughts.

I know it’s good for us short term but This energy crisis is becoming a real global problem now and could cause big inflation which is bad for everyone including Shell……

I’m sure that Nord pipeline will kick in soon which will help and of course we are investors in…..
