I see things differently and so do 2 of the biggest oil companies in the world. So we shall have to wait and see.

Moving forward there will only be paying places to charge your car I would imagine. Don’t forget in just a few years you wont be able to get hold of petrol cars. Where will the average person who lives in a city or tower block charge their cars?

I would suggest that the 1000s of people involved in this industry know more than us about the future so I am happy to invest my capitol in the belief they have it right.

It is possible that they are all window dressing whilst oil and gas makes the big companies their profits but I doubt it.

Europe and China the largest EV users in the world with sales doubling year on year…

Someone is on the money….I hope its us.

Hi Zac,

You could be right but I see it differently. I think BP will let other companies do the pumping for them whilst they become greener and greener and spend more every year on these projects.

Also Gas is the sort of compromise fuel for now and we are a decent player in this field..
Whilst your right that some ROCE on projects is 30-35% don’t forget this is a once off project profit and renewables hopefully bring in 8-10% every year.

Hydrogen in my opinion could be a big winner and BP potentially plan to spend billions and billions on this with the biggest Hydrogen plants in Europe and Australia.

And also the new Basra oil company…..

They could easily expand whilst the “Green BP” contracts oil wise….I know their oil is going to decrease but what about their gas. Plus these renewables are supposed to make an 8-10% return each and every year and as more and more projects come online the amount of projects returning 8-10% gets bigger every year……

For sure interesting times for next few years….

I was listening to a podcast called Maven Money. This weeks was about how cheap McColls stock is at present.

They are tied up with Morrisons so could be worth a look.....

Not a recommendation, DYOR etc etc etc.......

Anybody else got their eyes on anything they consider worth a look at present.......

I’m very bullish on BP as you know but I like many find it frustrating. People seem to want to buy shares and make 10% or 20% in a few months. That’s not how the stock market works unless you are very very lucky.

The market works when people sell out of frustration or when they fear it is near the bottom. Then it rises and so the cycle continues…..Exactly as a few on here are at the moment.

Fundamentals always play out over the long time and if BP continue to make these amazing profits they will here as well.

Thank you for your thoughts. I thought you had hibernated for the winter…lol

I agree organic growth in the sectors which BP has a foot hold is the most sensible way forward. I know it gets discussed every now and then but I still think a BP/Shell merger makes sence although I guess its turkeys voting for Christmas for a lot of board member/employees.

Get cracking with the Hydrogen, wind farms, Battery chargers, carbon capture, aviation fuel and if that’s not enough my grass needs cutting.

I know BP are apparently moving from oil but they will still need reserves for decades to come.

So knowing what you know who would you buy to add reserves.
