RE: CNR23 Oct 2017 12:33
The Condor story for shareholders has been one of ups and downs. I think many of us got caught out in 2011 as we expected the problems in the financial system would keep intensifying which would continue to lift the gold price. The huge futures attack in April 2013 caught everyone off guard given the macro picture and in hindsight that was the time to get out of the sector.
Thankfully it looks like this ridiculous bear market is coming to an end, doom and gloom in the stock and housing markets is in the news nearly every day now and that definitely paints a clear picture in terms of sentiment towards those exhausted bull markets. I'm reading more and more about the end of this disinflation (credit) cycle with a huge deflation, followed by huge direct intervention by governments in order to stoke inflation and get their economies moving again. This is very bullish for gold and gold equities.
As I've said before, Condor has been run exceptionally well during this cycle. Whilst not being perfect, the management have managed to grow the resource and bring it through feasibility to permitting, and we have very high profile investors in the shape of Ross Beaty and the IFC, plus an affiliate fund of Sprott Inc. Despite our lackluster share price, one has to imagine that these individuals clearly see Condor being a multibagger in the coming months/years, else why would they not have invested their capital in HUM or SOLG? I very much doubt they expected to wait years at sub 50p waiting for La India to be taken to production...
We all know Condor has huge potential, but timing has always been a problem, as well as figuring out what the trigger will be for a revaluation (permits? Resource upgrade? TSX listing? New gold bull market? All of the above?!) Well, I suspect we're much closer the end than the beginning and I completely agree with Wondergoals that Condor is an explorer, not a producer and as such once derisked and resource upgraded to 3m+ oz, coupled with a new bull market we should see significant interest in the company and resource.
