Friendsps, why don't you just do some m&a research yourself? See the timeframes involved from dd complete announcements until the deal is done. That will tell you a lot more about what is (not) happening here than anything anyone else tells you on a chat board. Wouldn't do you any harm to break out a calculator and see how much you've lost in realisable value comparing what you could've sold your holding for in the 40s or the 30s, and what you could sell it for today. Then ask yourself if greed based on fantasy will allow you to hold this back down into the teens and even lower with the no deal rns when it comes.
Longwait, have you ever considered that it doesn't matter if a million people say it, or if noone says it? What matters is whether "it" transpires to be correct, and therefore whether you lose or earn big money. But by all means go ahead with all of your linguistic analysis and paranoia.
Agreed, sp28, when the big rns lands the sp movement will be massive! My guess is back down to 5p as a whole load of PIs and insiders dump the share when it's announced that the sale is not happening and they don't want to hold another 10 years or however many decades for it to get back up to 50p. No matter how many times people tell you that the slow bleed down from the 40s, through the 30s, now down to the low 20s, is good news, it is a matter of personal intelligence whether or not you see a halving of your holding value as a great thing!
You are right - top team, capable of doing what needs to be done. But you're asking the wrong question. The real question is what's in it for them? They have made tens of millions onIthaca, they certainly don't need to prove themselves. And they sure don't need 250kpa gross when they will have to work hard for it! So preaumably they want to do another Ithaca and make many millions each. The REAL question is how will it be made worth their while? Jog is almost at the authorized options limit, they can't pay them millions a year in salaries as they ain't cash rich. Only scenario i see working is taking it private on the cheap, they get equity and make a killing in some years. But current holders get locked out of the big rewards. Happy to hear other thoughts and scenarios.
That's always the case with jam tomorrow investments - when tomorrow comes, there's always an excuse to kick the can dow the road to another tomorrow. But THE tomorrow for which everyone waits never actually arrives. Fair play to the BoD though, they've dragged it out more than 1.5 years and a full raises along the way, so their fees and expenses will be covered for the next year or two whilst the jam tomorrow routine continues. The smart money knows how these things work, hence the sp falling over the last year or so. Prozacs all round!
I think TMS is spot on the money about that. As NF at Sibanye said a while back, It's a bit too late for anyone not already mining Pd to be joining the party. I suspect he meant actual mining rather than holding a few licences. But time will show, and it will be interesting to see the sp action the day the no deal rns lands. It will make for a speculative punt once it drops back down to the single digits.
I am hurt, knownuffin, that you would think that i would try to tell someone they are stupid wh0 continually misspells the contraction of "you are". I'm so sorry you have taken it so to heart, let's kiss and make up?
I had not realized that insiders buying shares back months later negated the need to rns the info in the first place! I really appreciate you helping us slow learners out by explaining that. :) In fact I aspire to be clever enough one day to hold shares down from the 40s, through the 30s, now through most of the 20s and soon to be back into the teens judging from past performance. I only wish i was clever and successful so that i could have millions to invest at 40p per share for a holding which today i could sell for 24p per share, netting me a massive gain of -16p per share. (Aka a loss of 40% from the highs, but obviously that's only to those of us daft enough to need mental to explain this fantastic opportunity to us SLOWWWWLY) Wish all those who can tolerate a different perspective a pleasant evening :)
Would that be the same kind of immediately as the immediate rns when a board advisor dumped millions of shares for an urgent cashcall which was "immediately" announced...a few weeks later? Or would that be the definition of immediately from the same dictionary which gave the jorc "shortly" a mere 2 months ago, with still no jorc publishef? Is that the kind of "immediately" you're talking about?!
Sandy, try it a bit slower for my benefit; I just wanna be sure i understand pwopa like: so people who manage trillions professionally aren't smart enough to spot a nailed on ten bagger, but a combined group of ten people on a chat board with a self-declared holding of about 150% of the shares in issue are much smarter and able to see what these professional money managers can't? Have I got it about right? Just for the benefit of my own education! Speak as slowly as you like...
Buying bargain/unloved junior explorers looking for scalable deposits with credible comms and in a safe jurisdiction. Hope that helps! Basically the complete opposite of EUA at this stage! Sure they were exactly that at 1p, but tell me who is gonna pay billions for unproven resources in a waning asset class (Pd) in a highly risky jurisdiction which will just confiscate assets if they are needed for the 3rd world war the leader of that jurisdiction seems intent on starting! Oh wait, you can't tell me anyone, because they've been trying to flog it for years now and no one's buying!!!
We're watching it in real time! Could hold 40p a share. Drifted all over the 30s, now it is in the low 20s and likely heading back into the teens judging from past history. Needs to double just to get back to what you could've sold for a year ago
Genius investment strategy that is.
Well let's try some facts - over a year of hush hush big deal happening, everybody wants our assets yet we haven't managed to conclude a deal in over a year! Pd soon to be in massive oversupply on ICE engines are replaced by fully EVs, no numbers yet on what you need to pay for the rosgeo licenses cos they sure ain't free! Loss making annual P&L, missed the biggest opportunity ever to extract PGMs and sell during the ST boom based on ICE emissions needs (still no mine construction begun to extract these millions of ounces). Basically they've mined very little, run at a loss, and have been played by the big boys who just want to keep their Pd supply in the ground for a few extra years so they can get higher prices for the stuff NN, SS and the rest are extracting and selling every day! But OF COURSE such a company is worth tens of billions! So tell me this, if this is a ten to twenty bagger any day now, why haven't the smartest investors in the world been building massive positions? Even Buffet would be glad of a few extra billon for a nailed on ten bagger for a few hundred million! Reality is you've been played like a fiddle, son!
Is that the two month old rns saying the jorc would be released shortly? Or the rns saying an unidentified buyer has offered an unidentified amount for an unidentified selection of eurasia's assets? When you actually look at it, the rnses haven't promised much of anything, and yet people on here talk as if they've been handed the stars on a silver platter!
I really don't see why any professional services firms would suffer reputational loss. DLA are just the hired legals, citic and ubs are trying to flock the company for the highest price as is their contractual duty (although it seems noone wants to buy) and WA have done their technical assessments as they were contracted to. I suspect if it does transpire to be a big bubble, the people who will really get in trouble will be the auditors, look at what happened to AA with enron, and KPMG after quindell. Interesting times ahead here, that's for sure!
I hope you will be satisfied with significantly less than 50p per share, since i am guessing it will be sold, if they manage to find someone to take it off their hands, for a few hundred million not billions. But that's still a huge success for a company with negligible mining activity and which was only worth tens of millions in mkt cap before the wild takeover speculation started.
