RE: Just a quick question:31 Jan 2021 09:04
Looking at the pillar one data, it would appear that the Q16/Q32 is still being rolled out, this coming week should see pillar one capacity exceed 200,000 tests a day for the first time. Pillar one tests conducted have also been increasing, especially in recent weeks, although there remains much unused capacity.
I feel that the DHSC phase 1 contract shall be extended, having spent a number of months increasing the pillar one capacity, a u turn in the middle of a pandemic would see the capacity fall by more than half, that would not be wise move from the DHSC.
My thinking is that phase 1 shall be extended, phase 2 is less certain, more likely a renegotiated phase 2 I feel given the level of unused capacity at present. Might a renegotiated phase 2 include schools as opposed to care homes?
Also, I feel that testing for COVID within the hospital environment shall continue well beyond 2021.
Not likely that DHSC shall kick NCYT out of bed in the midst of the pandemic.
Also, let's not forget all the exciting new products coming during 2021. Time to remain focused upon the job at hand, which is what the board appear to be doing with an ability to innovate and resolve issues quickly.
