Also, have been criticised previously for suggesting that every GP could have an instrument for testing to confirm that an infection is present and whether an antibiotic is appropriate, citing the costs involved in rolling out that many instruments, however how much money is wasted every year when GPs prescribe antibiotics unnecessarily, how much does that cost the DHSC/NHS? PCR can be for all sorts of infections including STI.
Those that have attempted to bash Novacyt have claimed that PCR is old technology, although it came about nearly 30 years ago, it remains cutting edge. Some of the current day testing, as used within hospital labs, I'm led to believe is primitive, was once told about them having to boil away blood, or was it urine, to extract the solid particles at the end of the process for further analysis......how time consuming must that be?
