Abingdon’s comms are poor in my opinion. Conservative t/o of c£14m without DHSC for FY21….in 2018 is was around £3m. There has been some excellent growth in the company before the current debacle. PS ratio of c5. Avacta’s ratio is 160+. Im not saying Abingdon has greater potential than Avct, but the current share prices don’t add up for me!

I’d say Kistos could have the most environmentally friendly production in the North Sea. Our Q10A field is unmanned, run on solar and wind. No helipad (visits by boat have less emissions), controlled remotely. Way ahead of the game. Vast amounts of exploration potential too .

Gents does anyone have further thoughts on the buy vs sell seemingly not justifying the significant rise we have seen? Any help much appreciated. Have been invested in here since turn of the year, great to see this moving up quicker than anticipated.

To add, I am of the view that a good amount of avacta made future pipeline is priced in. I think that positive RNS’s from avct will impact Abingdon by a greater percentage. This is not a slight on avct, I am in both shares.

Would a key consideration be a tests ability to pick up the new Indian variant? I would say avacta is very well placed to be able to adapt the test quickly to this. I have not been reading this forum much as it has been unreadable for a couple of months, apologies if this has been discussed at length.

It’s just pathetic, emotional investing - from both rampers and derampers. AIM and Avacta owes me nothing; people in general far far too attached.

I also am of the view that market makers use these forums as a useful gauge of market reaction - This board and ADVFN are quick and visible way to get a feel for sentiment.

The infighting and worry just makes a rod for your own back.

I firmly believe this is a good investment that has been significantly derisked this week (excellent IP, various channels to market, high quality partnership agreements), but understand and am aware of the counter arguments (overvalued, nothing sold, delays). That is pretty much it.

The rest is people going round in circles and ****ging eachother off. It’s largely grown men acting like they are on 4Chan.

I actually think the recovery is very telling of the sentiment here. What usually happens with AIM stocks is significant rise into presentation and then huge dump. This has stayed pretty robust in comparison. ORR dropped by c30% before/after presentation recently. Have seen it time and time again.

Even if the virus got down to 0 cases in the U.K., there are clearly provisions that need to be in place for years and years to come. Best in class test supplies are a key part of that.

Bojo is prepared to spend over £100bn to reduce train times from London to Birmingham by 15minutes with HS2. He will throw the required money at testing supply so that our pants cannot be pulled down when there is another wave.

Not to mention European/American/ ROW needs.

Big holder in avacta but find the chat about “big buys” confusing. When they are blue it’s like “sea of blue” “oooo look at those big busty buys going through”. If it’s lots of red it’s “the LSE mainframe runs on a 1947 grammar phone found in Jimmy Savile’s basement. the sells are actually buys. You can never rely on those reported trades”.

I work in executive search/headhunting. The fact someone is pushing 70 and is still asked to take on a different role, with significant importance and challenge, speaks volumes about the person. I really do not think this will impact the share price tomorrow. Clearly a valued chap. The fact he is still there makes a handover/transitional period possible, which is very useful for the new person joining. This is a neutral/positive thing imho.

When ORR was around .5p last year did we know of the same prospects we do now? (I wasn’t in the stock at the time). Would be good to get your thoughts on how far down the rabbit hole this rerate could go?
