Actual bid is 17.2 which is only just higher than the effective closing bid last night of 17p. Its also strange that the current bid is lower than when the spread was only 17-18 (17.4p)

Going right back to PMO days, these shorting funds try to supress the good days as best they can, ready to tale control again when sentiment isnt so strong

Hopefully the sheer strenth of this update will make it much more difficult for them. Its a real shame Trump has helped to slash Brent down to $61, but even so we shouldnt be below £2 on the evidence of this update

Looking at the price action this morning, I would imagine our shorting friends are trying to carefully 'manage' the price in order not to take a pasting this morning. Having said that I would imagine they have a lot of headroom to protect their positions

Yes, reducing the debt would be ideal, however in the current climate as long as they have no immininent maturities, they may have to focus on other priorities

Is it even worth theorising over the psossibilty of Carlos Slim taking out the BASF stake, either in full or in chunks over the coming months/years?

Im sure he has access to the necessary funds and could recoup some by offloading business units he didnt fancy?

The spread narrows right up on any selling to maximise negativity. Showing as down 1p even though bid hasnt moved.

Needless to say, a 100k buy doesnt move us back up

Unfortunately we are still beset by sellers who cant resist their urge the minute the bid ticks up. However yes a fair few misreorted trades. You have do have to wonder whether that silly wide spread is deiberate to enable the misreporting.

It was notibeable this morning that onreceipt of the RNS, some people were quick to cast doubt on it. We asked for more investor support and got some. Not every RNS can be a barnstromer, but hopefully today was a step in the right direction
