HBR will undoubetedly have a very large EBITDA number in the next result (nearly $3.9bn at the interims) and that is really positive. My issue, being an accountant (though not a high flying city one) is that if these big numbers never translate into retained profits, the Balance Sheet wont grow orgaically, only by profitable asset disposals / corporate dealings

I seem to have rattled some people today, (not my intention) so I best drop the subject. Im certainly not a bear in any form (ask stupmy lol), maybe just a frustrated bean counter I guess !

If it had just been a placing, you would have possibly seen the price trend a little lower toward the issue price (215p). However these shares were issued to help buy producing assets, and the market will have had plenty of time to weigh up the pros and cons of the deal. Also 70% are locked in

Personally I would hope there wont be much impact, particularly if the oil price holds up. On the flip side, if the holders of the non-locked in shares decide they want cash, we could see some short term pressure. Hopefully not

Nope we are being walked down on lack of news and bored, low volume selling. We can but hope that management werent just paying lip service to the concept of improved investor communications - and I dont think a cozy update on the website will really cut it

Dan222 Im sorry thats simply not guaranteed to be true. Depreciation Amortisation and Taxation have repeatedly wiped out the profits in recent years.

I have my accountant hat on currently.,.....dividends come out of after tax profits, so if there arent any post tax profits, the company will not organically grow

Yes.....HBR has many things goingh for it now and in the future however regarding the results, I really do want to see a profit after tax. If this cant be acheived on $10bn turnover potential investors will start to wonder "when can it"?

Yes I know the importance of FCF and managemnt will push Adjusted EBITDA or some metric, however reserves eventually need to grow by retaining profits not just by issuing more shares through deals

Brent is flirting with a significant round number, UK Gas has come back from its recent highs, and god knows if anything Trump induced may happen re Iran over the weekend.

Its reassuting however that the oil price has rallied strongly since the LLOG deal was announced...makes it seem more attractive by the day

Id be very happy to hold this level into the close, bang on resistance, and then hopefully smash through it tomorrow. My only concern is that lots of traders will also see 235 as a significant previous top, and could take profits on any sign of weakness

Erm no not necessarily. For large periods, we were buying back shares at what proved above the market trend. We are fortunate now that external factors have driven up Brent and gas to the point where the price is close to breaking above the ceiling of its recent six month range

Would you be saying they were a success if Trump had said something to tank oil again and we had sunk to the fabled 150p? Im very happy to see good strength, but I think its a big stretch to attribute it to the effects of a $100m buyback

Can anyone who was invested or watching at the time confirm that the price rose in mid to late 2023 in anticipation of the Pilot field news, then dropped due to "sell on news" and a discounted fund raise? Or was something else going on?

25p is an absolute stand out previous peak on the chart from October 2023. If we can get there without news, it would set us up excellently for the rest of 2026 imho

From my trusty weekly candle chart, I will watching the 235p area carefully if we get there. This has proved unbreakable resistance on the last two upmoves in August and November 25.

Hopefully it will prove third time lucky and we can move into the 250-300p zone sooner rather than later
