Looking like that may happen today - and a bit more if we’re lucky! I don’t expect any news for a few weeks yet. Yes, 20th Jan deadline has passed, but that was when the proposals had to be submitted. I suspect that Zen and Tunisia will not have the same timetable expectations, so it will be up to the Court to consider and issue a ruling. None of this happens quickly. To be clear, I have a significant holding here, and will hold until the ICSID judgement is made (or earlier settlement reached), but don’t want investors to be disappointed at the lack of news over the next couple of weeks. StockCheque, whilst I would love you to be correct, I think you might be being a tad over optimistic. The experts calculating the losses were appointed by Zenith, so can hardly be classed as impartial. The Court does not have the power of enforcement, so Zenith will need to take separate action, possibly through domestic courts. As I said, I am confident here, but I do expect the ultimate award from ICSID to be reduced, and we mustn’t forget that it will be taxable in Canada.

This arbitration is against the Republic of Tunisia, not ETAP. We are now in a binary situation, but with complications!! We win, and even a reduced settlement will result in a hike in SP and a special dividend - provided we can extract the cash. On this point, I am optimistic as Tunisia needs a strong oil and gas sector desperately to help its flagging economy. A show of bad faith in ignoring a judgement from ICSID will deter future investors. A defeat will see a total decimation of the SP. The language from the Court gives me optimism for a favourable judgement, and the insistence on a shorter timescale will also help, but I cannot blame people selling now, banking a significant profit over recent months. I have chosen to hold for the potential huge rewards, but I am not blind to the risk. Good luck all fellow holders - and buyers who want to join in, but you will have to be quick!

Apologies - the State Tax should be for British Columbia at 12%.

Not being familiar with Canadian Tax rates, I have been doing a bit of research. It seems to me that the awards will be taxable as profits, so that there will be a 15% Federal Tax, and 8% Alberta State Tax deduction. Can anyone confirm, or advise differently? I also assume that previous losses can be offset?

The only operational updates in the last six months were those of 31st July and 26th September last year. As Bamps has said, there are lots of issues to report, hopefully very soon.

The ICC-1 Award is testament to the resilience of Zenith that has been able to wholly shoulder the sizeable burden of costs inherent to international arbitrations without third-party litigation funding, as well as the strength of our legal team comprised of Professor Thomas Clay (Clay Arbitration) and Maitre Simon Le Wita (Charles Russell Speechlys - CRS, Paris).

The deadline is to submit to the Tribunal by 20th January. We will then have to wait for the Tribunal to communicate its decision. That is likely to be weeks rather than days, so I am expecting the announcement late February. Still not too long to wait though.
