BCsaul, very generally it suggests that Gail and Focus energy are working through their contractual issues , if Focus win the appeal it could put pressure on gail and the indian gov to move things along with the contract extension and PSC . Information is scarce so it is down to interpretation , all the historic court decisions are on indian kanoon . IMO

Hi, on delhi high court there is a big red "A" on the cause list , i double checked on Indian kanoon and it varified the adjourment .

Today the 27th aug the appeal against gail india by Focus energy was adjourned to the 16/9/25 , It was made clear in the court that no further adjournment requests will be considered . Focus requested the adjournment .

Also, i agree stu , i'm no chartist but i feel the trend has changed over the last couple of months .

This upcoming week the appeal will be heard on thurs against the security interim measures imposed against focus energy earlier in the year . Only problem is i don't seem to be able to access the delhi high court because the capcha does not seem to be working now .If i was paranoid i would think someone was trying to keep it secret .

AND, the group is financially sound and has access to working capital in the region of a hundred million dollars , so may never happen , imo .

Yea, the gas is there , the field development has been approved , the environmental clearance pursuit was paused just before the psc ended , The indian gov. have been trying to increase profit share by %10 on other psc,s which has caused delays in resigning . City gas distribution being rolled out all over rajasthan and plans for both the local gas power plants to be running full power-full time , everything rests on the PSC being renewed.

The increase in gas infrastructure in Rajasthan will likely open up the customer base for Focus energy to other national carriers involved in the City gas distribution project , other players than Gail .

One bit of news that seems to have gone under the radar is that the rajasthan gov has just signed off on the "City Gas Distribution Policy" , which marks the beginning of a five year investment cycle to hugely increase the amount of gas connectivity to private and commercial customers in rajasthan and a marked increase in gas supply infra-structure in the state . This seems to have coincided with the recent surge .

Stew, i think one of the most important questions to ask ourselves is " do i believe the gas from our field is coming out ?" , i think the answer is a resounding yes . That the neighbours are benefitting from the Discovered Small Fields policy is extremely encouraging and points to our field being an extremely important strategic asset for rajasthan . Getting the psc contract renewed, and followed by a new contract with gail, followed again with environmental clearance for the already approved field expansion will see this soar to previous highs , 1.50 being the beginning in my opinion , patience is needed .

Gail india have been asked to form a jv company for Ramgargh and Dholpur gas power plants . Oil india have received a 15 yr contract extension to supply gail . Stew, i believe that an appeal is lodged towards the end of aug against the decision in favour of gail . I have checked on delhi high court , "case history" and it is noted that Focus have now become the "appellant" against gail , Appellant being the person appealing . This is my understanding of the evidence , others may disagree , happy to exchange views .
