If tobii had issues what would peeps here feel about capital raise to bring in some of their IP here? Esp in AR/XR and glassses and research market. They also have some design wins in oms and dms. Thoughts?

We have secured a renewed license for the same amount of cash as smarteye realised via dilution in their recent right issue.

There numbers are consistently missed on auto. Aftermarket is a complete unknown.

Minimal avaition

Market has liked the noise from smarteye even though much is fiction and share price has moved up altough way off highs.

I dont think we are managed any worse than smarteye and getting magna and collins on board via a license is not matched by competitors currently and yet market punishes us.

Kpi opacity from competitor surely must be factored in soon as the realisation numbers may be behind at smarteye vs their crowing on ramp up.

Tough times in the ev market and likely oems across board best keep fingers crossed that an interest rate cut or 3 feeds through in thr market in europe, uk and us. Otherwise car sales will be severely pressured. Ev only maybe more issues than.legacy ice brands

Fisker entering chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Tough market. Could get recapitalised but volume key to car OEMs. Tesla scaled well (i personally not a fan as the design lool tired and uninspiring. The one i tested the drive was great but the panel fit was appaling for a close to 80 grand car) the legacy ICE makers are finding ev competition hard and chinese stae subsidised brands are trying to.flood markets. Shame for fisker if they die a death as they looked smart. Small numbers wont be noticed too.much on our dms fitments i hope.

Next safety ratings update on euro ncap website is slated for 3/7. Fingers crossed the golf is on there. If we get a top rating on driver and occupant monitoring then I would like to think we may see contract news on Magna mirror expansion to other oems. Could be a decent 3 months. Euro ncap ratings, kpi in August, maybe Collins first aviation product news disclosed?, magna mirror awards? Guardian news? Cashflow positive run rate news window opens (I think this would be Jan earliest but what do I know) would be nice to see a share price closer to the magna investment price this summer and in adavnce of broker target prices as a Christmas present. Unconvinced on takeover in next 12 months unless magna mirror smashes it out of park. I think if that happens magna will look to secure ownership and I think north of 2bln will be takeout price so circa 40p. I don't see much competition from chipmakers bringing them under their wing. PE might have a cheeky go if we are still less than 10p at Xmas. Not sure what we gain by consolidation moves by acquiring competition either. I still think smartye have maybe 1.more big contract they may announce in 24 though

I think rns is more strategic nature rather than dearth of contracts. Sounds like covid vaccine interest is starting again with the panic over bird flu a lot more capital being spent on flu vaccines. The imutex stranded asset may yet get some realisation.

As article says it won't be just kia with these issues. A well thought out adas package where.all components are built together and integrated properly rather than piecemeal cheapest bill of materials is clearly going to be optimal. I hope the penny drops on this front to the benefit of SEE.

The thought of a software defined vehicle is frightening tbh and I think oems will row back from these. I guess see can attack the problem either directly or with tier 1 partners but I am hoping the sdv and seye taking this on will hamper their overall progress honour benefit.

Do we know for sure the GM vehicle is SEE, do we know if an NDA covers said vehicle? If not why would PMG say anything anyway. The picture is muddied by dual sourcing and different generations of Blue Cruise for ford, supercruise/ultra cruise if that is still a thing. In the end the numbers are doing the talking. It's a quiet voice at the moment but will get louder in the coming quarters. Being a tier 2 you are further down the award news cycle and some platforms we may have some permanent nda aspects. Opacity in OEM deals are not friends with retail aim investors.

Tiguan is indirect monitoring not eye tracking.. the zeekr cars rated are both eye tracking and scores not great. The maxus one is also eye tracking and score seemed better so.maybe this is one of smarteyes china wins as maxus is saic. We need the new golf rating to see the monitoring score for the.magna mirror. There will be a good number of vw model refreshed on older platforms that might not get mirror until the full refresh so steering.wheel torque will be used for basic compliance.

Martin out and about on twitter pointing at cars again that may or not have smarteye tech involved.

Couple of cars showing on the euroncap tested on 2024. Toyota CHR and Honda CRv both down as indirect monitoring which I took to be torque monitoring or capacitive steering wheel or similar. There is a nio vehicle with camera and the score for that part wasn't ace. Under 2023 the hyundai Kona looked to be camera and not ace, kia ev9 camera better than the kona. Assume hyundai and kia both smarteye. No idea on the Nio ?Cipia ?Chinese dms

In House - woeful specs when you look at when it works or doesn't. Hats, poor light, sunglasses all mean it's rendered useless. I think all of the major dms competitors tobii,cipia,smarteye and us all work in more challenging situations. Tesla either have to improve massively themselves, get a dms partner or acquire one of the players for what is buttons currently.

50m or c20% valuation gap in gbp opened up between SEE and SEYE. Not sure that is warranted based on available metrics on revs, kpis etc. Frustrating for sure.

A reviews out there that haven't loved the DMS and said over sensitive and annoying in use. Mass market adoption will likely throw up more comments on dms across the different suppliers - again some of the issue won't be down to the supplier of the software per se. The integration of software onto a multitude of central computer, camera and illumination suppliers and positions and capability of oem and tier 1 to stabilise a working solution will be key. At the London cmd it was intimated that the number of partners we work with would slim down. That looks to be happening via magna and valeo - the focused offer may.mean product is robust and finessed to a point customers may have a better opinion of it esp if less false positives or annoyance. I saw one video on YouTube where the camera and illumination pod on the ev9 had been covered by black tape. Clearly that won't work with a mirror solution. Safety is critical and shouldn't be circumvented but annoyance with tech drives silly work around and will be interesting if proven that dms was avoided by tape for instance and crash occurred would this void insurance??? Market is nascent really, I have a kia on order for Sept and I don't think that has dms as model refreshed before 24 date. My next car after this one will have it and the landscape maybe very different. Cost and performance are key and will be interesting to see what csutomer feedback means to Kia if dms is not well recieved in its current offering and set up. There is a real chance seeingmachines may experience same on some cars too. I still think software tier 1 has potential for huge liability and legal aspects esp if you are the team holding up a project or worse still cause failure. The tier 1 buffer can be useful is this kind of respect. Anyone here got a car with dms from any supplier? Happy with it? Any issues?
