Testing, testing27 May 2020 00:23
Have read and re-read the three most recent updates provided by the Company in relation specifically to its Covid strategy, and admit to being more than a tad confused.
Would be grateful for any clarification, perhaps during the wed. trading day.
The 25 March rns announced a contractual manufacturing agreement with Ncyt. I was surprised there was no specific mention of this arrangement in today's update and, indeed, whether it is still in force and progressing. I assume so unless told otherwise.
LIkewise the march communication made reference to lab-service testing for the NHS. Nothing since, so no ideas if this potential revenue source has legs or not.
The 20 April trading update confirmed that first shipments of the (Ncyt agreement?) had been completed, so presumably revenue generating.
Today's update seems to add further momentum to the Covid front with the launch of its testing service and the proposed Clarigene infectious disease kit.
I have the strong sense that the Co. strategy appears to be aiming for potentially more lucrative fields within the Covid arena, and that LR has already seen beyond Ygen as a mere widget assembler and sub-contractor for the mass-produced Ncyt product.
To be perfectly honest, all this testing in a fast-moving market is doing my head in. That said, I have every faith LR has a cunning plan.
An idiot's guide to Covid testing Vis-a-Vis Ygen would be gratefully appreciated.
