I'm not suggesting Samsung will delay court proceedings, but a backlog of cases is certainly a delay factor. Appealing a win would delay things a further. SO we can' say for sure when this will be done and dusted.

I would love to see a swift and satisfactory end to this, but wanting isn't having.

We'll see I guess. With nanoco i look at worst case, then consider anything better a bonus!

I personally favour organic growth in the company for the sensor side of the business. Hopefully some update on that coming soon, perhaps with the final results in October as Edison indicated in their last report.

Think anyone expecting a quick deal should factor in that this could potentially go on another year or two, if the court is backed up with cases and Samsung decide to play it out for as long as they can, appeals etc.

Possible. Until I see QD's mentioned on a datasheet spec or confirmation from Nanoco that they have inked a supply agreement, I'll keep my enthusiasm in check.

QE of the linked sensor is given as 25% on the STMicro website. It's given as above 50% in previous articles on QD enhanced sensors e.g.

Quantum efficiency of 25% suggests this is not QD enhanced.

If STMicro had agreed a license with Nanoco to produce QD materials in house, wouldn’t that require an RNS?

It's probably more to do with applying the dots to the cmos chips rather than producing QD's themselves, which will most likely be shipped in from the facility in Runcorn.

Depends ion the TV. QD OLED uses many more dots per set than the QLED LCD based screens.

I believe that the QD sensors will first appear in AR products, and until they are formally announced any technology linked with them will be kept closely under wraps. From what I have seen in the Apple patents both NIR and SWIR sensors will be required, lots of them and many with a large range and with the lowest power consumption the state of the art can deliver.

The next stage I believe will be under OLED display face recognition sensors, which maybe next year of the year after. SWIR is required to punch through the OLED matrix, and there only appears to be one way of manufacturing sensors in that wavelength at a cost suitable for consumer devices.

Quantum efficiency too low I think for QD enhancement.

I expect LOAM are selling into the rise once again. Auto sells appearing once more.

Been plenty of cheaper QD sets on the market for years- TCl, Hisense, Vizio etc.

Samsung QLED are a lot cheaper now, you can even get the latest and greatest QD-OLED for around £13-1500 in the 55" sizes right now.

I suspect cadmium Qd’s and likely to be Nanosys XQDEF diffuser at this price point. If it was Nanoco dots, we would have expected an RNS by now.

I believe the amount being quoted by Edison etc. is an estimate based on the royalty that would have been expected from Dow for QD film/dots, had supply commenced as expected.
