Is it at all possible that we could find tomorrow ~£1bn on our balance sheet and a contract with an undisclosed Asian company with expected revenues of ~£100m over the coming year?

Thanks Sammy. Though I have to say it seems strange that a court would involve themselves in an agreement on future business between two parties.

I can't see the relevance of a future royalty set by the court and therefore I can't see that the court would do that, because ultimately this will be settled between S & N after a case anyway.
Any legal views on this?

I wonder, if a German injunction is the thing that eventually triggers a settlement of say £1bn + £100m/year future royalty, how much will the SP remain suppressed due to the chance of an appeal turning things in Samsung's favour in the future?

A good summary LordWM.

Points to note. The value of the US case win at 1.19 would not be realised immediately in the SP due to the probability that the appeals stage is lost, and due to the wait for payment. On the other hand, if we get an injunction in Germany we can surely demand a higher royalty that £10 per TV in the future sales part of the calculation.

Does anyone know if the PTAB appeal is currently in progress? Ie will that conclude in May 2023?

NGR, based on Feek's clear outline of the case and the judge's planned instructions to the jury some weeks back, that Samsung's burden of proof is "clear and convincing evidence", and Nanoco's burden of proof is "a preponderance of evidence", how can you say that the chances are 50:50?

There should perhaps be some sense of urgency, otherwise the court is just playing into the hands of and essentially partnering with big tech. Settlement surely only comes when there is a threat of an imminent case.
